Imagine Tre trade one year of TJ at 5mil for 7 yrs of Mayfield at 3.75mil with Lou.

That will crash this board

With Kerfoot and Domi, Domi just seems so much more effective than me. He's fast. He forechecks. He has the threat of a shot on the PP. He takes the puck to the net.

All of the things that Kerfoot does not do. Kerfoot is better defensively for sure but I'll make that trade off.

Considering the teams struggles against Florida, I'd rather have a guy with no defence than a guy with no offence in Kerfoot's spot.

Yeah it seemed like we had way too many defensive forwards last year which may have contributed to our downfall in the playoffs. Didn't help that Keefe was playing not to lose.

Even on D, all but 1, maybe 2, brought zero offense to the table and couldn't be counted on to join the rush and make a play.

Gotta think we're beefing up on defence somehow. Said he likes players who can clear the net or battle in front of the net. We got the offensive players who'll do it and lost one of our best defenders at doing it.

Man, Oiler fans are so sour about our signings.

Hate to see it.
Oilers fans don't know the difference between signing bonus and performance bonuses, I got stupider reading their forum and the amount of times I saw "Nylander must be getting traded" even though Toronto didn't add any money to the year his caphit will rise.

I think the main difference between the two is Domi has a better shot and is a bigger asshole while Kerfoot is smarter and better defensively. Domi may also have an edge on playmaking but both are pretty good at it when given the chance.

Forechecking-wise, Kerfoot was sneaky good... Especially for a guy his size. And he had no issues with taking it to the net either. His shot just wasn't all that great and when you are also not that big, you will only get so many goals. Especially when your linemates aren't exactly looking to get the puck to you.

I’m hearing tryamkin (former Canuck) wants to come back to NHL this year. I’m interested, anyone else?

He will want too much money and a more guaranteed spot more than likely. Unless we are sitting Gio a lot and trading Timmins, he doesn't fit.

He can play RD so he would work on his off-side with Rielly.

Foote should be a reclamation project we look at, and I still like Meloche as someone to stash for the Marlies.

Both can move decently well and play a good two-way brand of hockey. Plus they have size + physicality. Still raw and need some developmental time, but since they are in their mid-20's, our staff could easily turn them into Holl 2.0.

Ok day 2 of feee agency, I give Treliving a B+. He filled some holes, made us tougher, gave us offense, made us weaker defensively but I think we will be more fun to watch. And our cap next year is not wrecked as we have 1 year deals

Would love to reclaim Foote. He's the kind of defenseman (like Luke Schenn and Richardson) who will get better when they are older and more experienced.

Thoughts on bringing in Brendan Lemieux? He's bounced around a bit and hasn't established himself as an NHL'er, but he's a youngish UFA (27) and has that desirable combination of skill and grit that Treliving likes if he can ever figure it out. Could be a replacement for Acciari at the right price.

Also wouldn't mind bringing back Michael Carcone on a try out contract.

off topic, but since returning from my 6+ month PED suspension I’ve noticed the ads on here are making the site awful to use bordering on unusable on my iPhone. Tried using brave browser but it says to disable the ad block and with safari it’s atrocious.
Use goduckgo...
Its great

Carcone already re-signed with ARI.

Pass on Lemieux. He's just a mega-pest and annoying teammate who doesn't bring any kind of value at either end of the ice or on special teams. We already have Reaves making it very difficult to configure lineups. Lemieux is no better, and I wouldn't be shocked to see him go to the KHL this year. Much better options out there in UFA.

Don't go to other teams' HFBoards to find out what they think about your team. Problem solved.

I hear he has "bite."
