Seems counter productive. Jarnkroks a 20 goal scorer that PKs and is good all-around.

We are taking steps forward. Taking a step back after these seems weird to me. Domi is terrible defensively and Bertuzzi isn't much of a defensive stalwart either.

The Leafs seem capped out and need to move Murray to get Samsonov signed.

We can go over by 10% of cap till season starts lots of time to become cap compliant. Just like any other year.

Agreed but I don't think it's realistic to fit in Domi and Samsonov unless you move somebody out (besides Murray who needs to go regardless)

He probably won't be a 20 goal scorer outside of the top 6, but we need his two-way contributions.

Everyone assumes either trade or buyout but I have to believe that LTIR is still a possibility. This is a guy who could get hurt getting up to go to the bathroom at night.

Nylander for Pesce is terrible. Morrow isn't much of a needle mover either, above average prospect.

To me, Seattle is probably the team you hope steps up and offers a good package for Nylander. A lot of good young players/prospects and picks. And then turn around and trade for a targetted defenseman that isn't a pending UFA asking for a huge extension.

Very good asset management to pick up players in FA if you have to trade Nylander. Nylander still has a lot of value even with only 1 year left. Hopefully it involves a player on an ELC who can contribute.

Timmins, yes. Lafferty, almost certainly not. We already lack PKers (and PK centers especially), and we need speed. He brings all of that to the table.

TBH, I could still see the Leafs bringing in a cheap 4th liner like Shaw or AJF (Nosek is probably too expensive) if they have decided that Robertson needs to spend the year in the AHL.

I am looking at Lafferty, there are several Marlie fowards that can move up and down without waivers.
