Most of the names that this board universally wanted (Bertuzzi, Hathaway, Duchene) are still on the board.

Bertuzzi is likely to command an absurd price given this shallow UFA pool.

We've had a handful of Leafs already sign with other clubs, including a couple that the vast majority on this board most certainly wanted back.

The Leafs have much bigger issues right now than anything a player like Hathaway is going to solve, it's Duchene, Bertuzzi or bust at this point, though I wouldn't mind Domi at all personally either considering who's left.

To be fair, this team was doomed the second Dubas signed Tavares.

That set the tone on the finances and locker room.

Unfortunately Tavares isn’t the type of locker room leader that inspires a rally. He is a quiet leader, that needs to be surrounded by strong personalities.

When you have that as your bench mark for the significant raises your future stars are set to make, there is far too many holes and issues looming.

This team will not compete until this team moves on from him and Willy.

Shanny and Dubas both should have been tied together, but maybe we see Shanny let Treliving just run wild with this roster, which is truthfully a scary thought in its own right.
I've missed you Chuck!

So what is Sammy looking for ?

Andy 2x$3.4m
Rantaa 1x$1.5m
Korpi 5x$4m
Rimes 1x$1.5m
Talbott 1x$1m
Lyon 1x900K
Quick 1x825K
Blackwood 2x$2.35m

Who would you have signed from the players off board? All aren't a fit here espt for the money..... maybe the only was patches and JVR ...

Pacioretty, Brown(with that structure), ROR(I know it was his choice but coming into the day), Wheeler.

At least one of the above, a flyer on Wheeler, Pacioretty for those contracts would've been well, well worth it and still left us with space to go big name hunting.

I remember when you used to give me warm, comforting feelings of hope. Like nana's knitted quilts

Except there’s a lot of reasons ROR may have chosen to leave that aren’t this crap you’re putting in his mouth.

Damning details about Ryan O'Reilly's decision to leave Toronto.

Ryan O'Reilly's decision to leave the Toronto Maple Leafs may send shockwaves through the organization once again.

Fans will remember that following the conclusion of the playoffs for the Maple Leafs, O'Reilly was among the most vocal critics of the decision made by the organization during those very same playoffs.

"There's so many things we could have done differently, it's frustrating," said O'Reilly of the Panthers series. "I think we could have given that series a better chance."

Many took those comments as an open criticism of the Maple Leafs coaching staff, a coaching staff that has by and large remained in place despite a new general manager coming in.

Instead the insider revealed that O'Reilly's decision to leave Toronto was motivated by something far more damning, a simple desire to get away from the Maple Leafs organization.

I’d like to get one of Bertuzzi / Domi, then one of Hathaway / Acciari and then Duchene.

Then figure out the D after today

Given whats left now; Leafs gotta get

- Tom Wilson at 50% retained plus picks for Nylander
- Sign Bertuzzi and Domi
- Sign Mayfield
- Trade Brodie for Zadorov
- Sign Acciari

Duchene only if it is 2M AAV and plays 3rd line LW

We still need to fill in the 2C role. I don't like Tavares at 2C. JT should be playing 3C with limited TOI and PP duties
