The gunpowder is in place and the fuse has been lit. But we'll have to wait until June for the BOOM.

Plenty of teams in the past have fired the GM mid-season and replaced them with a temporary GM to oversee the trade deadline sell-off. And then do the proper search for the real replacement later. I think the Leafs did it with Fletcher before they hired Burke for example.

That's probably the best option since it prevents Bergevin from doing anything stupid. It's not just the dumb trades he might make, it's the trades he might turn down.

Its awesome how many fired employees could be still getting paid for years to come, thanks to little Geoff's incompetence.

Roy is the last thing this organisation needs.

We need ROY or someone with his passion to win CUPS,as the OWNER of the team.
What we got now is our owner JOKING about how him and Bergevin haven't won any cups...

Have you heard the one about the Montreal Canadiens?

As owner Geoff Molson joked at a chamber of commerce event on Friday, the storied franchise might have won 24 Stanley Cups, but “Marc Bergevin and I haven’t won any of them.”

Yes, different opinions are amazing and really tough to digest. You're clearly struggling even after some puffs of reality...
At some point, aren't you just tired of being wrong about the club? Doesn't it get exhausting trying to find next location you are going to shift your goal posts?

You've been incorrect at almost every turn. Your blind optimism has failed you. Just get over it.

I would recommand Timmins as interim GM he understands the value of all picks and prospects.
I wanted Timmins last time around. I'm not in favour of a rookie GM but he's been here a long time and has at least had some success with drafting. I'd be okay with giving him an opportunity here.

Timmins as an interim only or with a shot at a full time gig?

Can Geoff M0lson get fired as President? I lost track of what the governance structure looks like these days...? Not everyone with some influence in the Habs-Molson business may agree with his blind trust towards an incompetent GM... What would it take to get Geoff Molson fired? Is it even doable?

He's also spending his partners' money. They can't be too pleased about about the current state of affairs.

Meanwhile...

I know little about Brisebois, honest question, what makes him the best candidate?

He's been a GM contender for a bunch of other markets for a while now (like the Leafs). Well educated. Knows the market better than Bergevin did. He's Yzerman's top lieutenant and has had an expanded role for a while now. Has been GM of two of the top AHL teams. Understands analytics, but doesn't rely on them. CBA expert. Well connected. He's also bilingual.

If the Habs are serious about a change, they should probably strike soon, because he's part of the group of AGMs that will next be scooped up (along with Dubas/Hunter, Fenton and Futa).

Fenton is a guy who has a great reputation...

A shame he won't ever be considered because the team doesn't want to shell out for some french language training at Jonquière lol

Brisebois doesn't move me, just seems like a candidate by default.

Hes french, so he's destined to be GM of this team...meh

I fought this fight back when Gauthier was still around. Brisebois has grown in Tampa, is bilingual and is comparable to Fenton.

Lets just get better people in place and focus on building the team properly.

I'm just done with recycling people or having people with ties to the city and province.

I want a GM with a clean slate...no friends to please.

Brisebois is a good candidate regardless of language. If he doesn't get the MTL job he'll probably get one somewhere else.

The problem is that he's basically the only non-clown choice.

Mcguire on TSN 690 right now.

He says he sees Drouin on the wing and Galchenyuk at center. Says he gets asked all the time around the league about chucky. His response: "I would love to get the opportunity to work with that player."

Half on the current NHL GMs are better candidates than a guy with no job in the NHL as GM. Did you even read my post? Talk about ignorant.

So, you don't know.

It makes you feel good to call other ignorants I get it, should try showing a bit of knowledge before doing so.

that's what most think whenever they hear/read a french names for possible next Habs staff. The guy cannot be the best possible candidate and speak french, impossible.

Thanks very much for this. Sounds a whole lot better than the guy in the seat now. Then again, many are.
