Well he's never coached vets per say as a head coach. He's just coached a bunch of.kids as a CHL head coach.
True but there is a huge difference between coaching a team of 16 and 17 year-olds and a team with 18 and 19 year-olds. And his teams in Victoria always disappointed in the playoffs.

I hope Chevy is taking this seriously because I don't see Maurice lasting the month

You may wish to see an optometrist. PMO is most certainly entrenched for the rest of the year after getting past that minor blip.

That said, you all may continue to discuss coaching alternatives but realistically, this would be an off-season move (if the Jets have a poor post-season).

Changes cant come fast enough.

Toronto is going to score a touchdown on Sunday.

I guess this is the fun of checking out this thread after a few days. Looks like the Jets scored a touchdown instead. A shame we didn't get the convert! :)

I like Randy Kitty Carlyle to replace Paul Maurice while Mike Babcock might be interested, he won’t coach for $2M annually.

Babcock is coaching a University team right now for basically free. He would jump at the opportunity if someone in the NHL gave him another shot. Would likely even take below market value.

Isn't he still being paid millions by the Leafs?

Re: Flyers firing AV. I don't think he's a good coach, but is the Flyers' doing poorly really that surprising? They have, what, Couts, Konecny, Giroux and Provorov who are actual talents on that team? It's just not that good a roster, and Giroux is not spring chicken either.

They should probably blow it up.

I think Babcock's contract with the Leafs expired last season.

Nope, it was an 8 year deal signed in 2015 worth 50 million. I looked it up the other day because I thought it was 10 years and 50 million
Oh shit... I thought for sure it'd be done by now. Leafs sure screwed the pooch on that one.

Philly and Vancouver have fired their coaches. Winnipeg status quo

Hah! Inpatient fools -- they will never win the Cup if they rashly insist on a new coaching staff every decade or so instead of letting them marinate gently as the universe requires...

That isn't really how it works. If Babcock comes back then his new team and the Leafs would have to determine how much each pay him. His old contract doesn't go away it gets absorbed in a way by his new team.

I'm not a big Vigneault fan, but it would still be a huge improvement. Would absolutely love to see Torts here.....for so many reasons.

Bringing Torts here would almost guarantee that PLD doesn't sign here. With the way that ended in Columbus and the way Torts publicly criticized PLD on his way out of town I dont think those two will ever be on the same team again.

Idk....PLD is a big boy, but ya, I suppose it could be a problem.

I'm not worried about Dubois as much as I am about Scheifele. Can you imagine how that would go down.

Doesn't matter though as he ain't ever going to come to this market anyhow.

I'm so sick of the status quo in this league, I'd like to see this org get someone that understands the younger players on this roster and how to get them firing on all cylinders. I could care less on if the coach likes the older vets. I want the torch passed, the quicker it leaves our current leaderships hands the better.
