A standings update after the Showcase, in the West, teams 3-6 are only separated by three points. In the South, the Ice Bats hold down the last playoff spot by 10 points over the Roadrunners. In the Frontier, Badlands Showcase stumble tightens the group for that last fourth seed in the Division. And in the East New Hampshire holds down the fourth seed over LB by 7 points. Finally, the Woodsman hold a 10 point cushion over the Jr. Blues in the Central for the last seed.

Seeing as Christmas is coming, you could've skipped that last standings glance to leave me some cheer. 😭
It is only December. Things in tier three juniors can change fast. Add a kid or two, and poof that 10 point deficit is gone.

NA3 back in action tonight with three games on the slate. Perhaps the most interesting is from the Central where 2nd place Wausau takes on 4th place Rochester. In that Central first place and fourth place are only separated by 6 points.

Checking the Tier II Jr, A NAHL standings as their season rolls on ...

NAHL Central Division Standings (1 Jan 2025).jpg

NAHL East Division Standings (1 Jan 2025).jpg

NAHL Midwest Division Standings (1 Jan 2025).jpg

NAHL South Division Standings (1 Jan 2025).jpg

NOTES: The "biggest surprise" honors go to the Corpus Christi Ice Rays in the South, a perennial bottom dweller who is just one point behind the perennial pace-setter Lone Star Brahmas as January play begins this coming weekend. The El Paso Rhinos also are noteworthy in the relatively close 3rd place slot. The Rochester Jr. Americans deserve an honorable mention for leading the strong East Division in just their 2nd year of NAHL play. No major shakeups in the Central nor Midwest Divisions, though I am happy to see my sentimental favorite Springfield Jr. Blues clinging to a one-point lead for 4th place in their Division (for now).

So I checked EP with concern to players used for Maine. Last year the Nords used 42 skaters, same as this year in January. I obviously have time to kill.
