He's having one of the absolute best stretches of offensive hockey in Hurricanes history (I don't want to get into raw numbers vs eye test vs pace vs etc). It reminds me of E. Staal coming out of the 04-05 lockout where it felt like something special could happen every time he got the puck. Eric was hovering around 120-130 point pace for much of the first half of the season before falling off a bit. I still want to see him keep it up for the entire season and into the postseason but it's been a hell of a ride so far. And it is crazy that instead of Cory Stillman and Erik Cole, he's got Koko and Robinson riding shotgun for so much of this.
Yeah it really is mind boggling how well he’s done with those guys. Yes some of his production is PP and 3v3 but his 5v5 production with them is incredible too and absolutely stands on its own. Credit to those 2 guys as well as they are playing great but the talent/skill gap is large and Necas is lifting those guys up a lot

Got to give a ton of props for putting him with Robinson and KK. He’s paired Necas with two guys who play a high intensity, defensively responsible, two way game. On top of that, they defer to him offensively and the entire play runs through the puck on his stick. I think he maybe figured out that you just needed to put him with a couple of non flashy workhorses and take his shackles off. That takes a lot of trust from a coach, especially a coach like Rod, but I think it’s an earned trust based on the work Necas has put in over the past few years to develop a more responsible and efficient nature to his game.

I don't think people in North America appreciate how huge the Czech win at the world championships this year was for Necas psychologically. Lots of Czech fans - after his performance there and the result - expected him to have his best season in the NHL, which is materialising, at least so far (let's not forget it is still early days).
