When does the axe fall on Jimbo? He’s running a 🤡 show

His contract is buy out proof. They’d owe him $80M. I posted a link on Saturday/Sunday that said there’s no offsetting contract language in it. So typically there is language where the next employer of the coach would off set some of that future buyout number. Jimbo’s deal has no offsetting language in it.

So they’d have to pay him all that money to go away on top of a new coach. They have the most expensive non-head coach salary pool for their other staff as well. So it would be a pretty expensive proposition to fire him & some of his staff then hire a new HC & coaches. They might be stuck with him for now.

It’s not good to piss off Texas billionaires. If he doesn’t get his act together a few of them will chip in and send his ass on down the road. These guys didn’t give him all of the toys that they did to have the team go off of the rails like this. If guys start to transfer out after this season, he’s looking like toast.

It’s on them just as much. They thought they could buy their way to Alabama’s on field results. But Saban took Alabama out of the gutter & to the national stage before all the big money started rolling in there.

They invested so much money into Jimbo, the rest of the coaching staff, & their roster they’ve put themselves in a really tough situation to make a change at least in the short term. They may have no choice but to run it back next year.

Oh, I agree totally with your post except that these TAMU guys don’t care about money. They want wins. If he or his players can’t deliver they’re as useful as the old paper on the bottom of a bird cage. They’ll be gone.
