Even the national NFL guys are shitting on CFB for Pitt-WV not playing for a decade. These teams hate each other. This game is fantastic.

I’m going to be that guy that says the hate was probably enhanced by the long break. If those teams play each year it wouldn’t nearly have been the spectacle that it was.

Now should they be playing every year? Of course.

Felt like the first game of the recent Penn State/Pitt series had juice but then died down. Perhaps the results of the middle games which really weren’t close games played a part. The fourth game & final game was pretty much a snooze fest.

But then again it seems like the younger fans in the Penn State fanbase like myself don’t really have as strong attachment to that rivalry like the old heads do. The younger fanbase never really saw a top 5-10 matchup between the two teams like the older generations have.

In general I really don’t know what the future scheduling of college football is going to look anyway though. I’m not saying the same amount of games but like are they headed towards a more pro style schedule going forward once the Big Ten & SEC go to 20+ teams?

So 6 auto bids and 6 at-large. Before further realignment, it's entirely possible the average is more SEC + B1G teams than everyone else combined, even with the auto invites being half.

@JojoTheWhale they get Ohio next week so he should probably get some run in the second half.

That was the one throw I saw! That's a GREAT ball. You just don't get many chances at meaningful QBs. I hope there's a level of play he could have where he wins the job outright, but somehow I doubt it.

Of course the irony of Kirby winning a title doing exactly what I never want to do is not lost on me, but I will forever argue he got lucky with it.

Clifford is fortunately done after this year so Allar’s essentially in the driver seat for the starting job for 2023.

I think next year even beyond the QB position is setting up to more so to be a better roster than this year for them. They played a lot of first & second year players last night.

How did Illinois ever get away from these classics?
