A defending national champ Texas winning 8 games in their first SEC season would be interminable too. I'm not saying there are many great options left.
Obviously all three are entering into tougher situations next year with expansion. But this is the absolute window for both Michigan & Washington this year given their rosters are gonna have a lot of departures through graduation/draft. Add in the scandal & potential ramifications that’s muddying the waters for Michigan as well (does their coaching staff look the same next year?).
I'm wondering if more low end P5 teams don't start going into lower levels to take coaches. DeBoer should have moved up more quickly than he did. What Leipold is doing at Kansas really isn't materially different than what he did at Buffalo. They're still managing relationships with HSes, recruiting local kids that fit, and coaching them up.
Leipold’s definitely had opportunities to move up so far but hasn’t taken them. Granted it’s not like he’s turned down top 15 jobs but they certainly are notable improvements over Kansas. So part of me wonders if he could just be one of those guys who likes the smaller jobs where it’s more simpler. Not a lot of political pressure & recruiting more so falls in place for you as you’re not in it for highly contested players.
Indiana just did it with Curt Cignetti from James Madison. I actually don’t think it’s a bad call for programs like that going after guy’s with that type of profile (older coaches who had a lot of success at lower levels doing things on a shoe string). You probably have a better chance of getting more mileage out of it than younger coach who’s probably more likely to bounce first chance he gets if it comes. If you’re really lucky maybe you get a Kyle Wittingham situation.
I think the idea was to run their end zone plays without Washington being able to call timeout.I have no idea what either staff was thinking on that last drive. The Swing pass got an audible guffaw.
At least we got 3 good games today.
Nice to have 2 northern teams play for the championship instead of having the SEC shoved down our throats consistentlyUgh. F***ing Washington.

@LegionOfDoom91 thoughts on the Fleming pick up? I think anything is an upgrade at this point
Georgia wanted to kick him inside as a nickel/star and he balked. He wants to play outside. We'll see what he does.@JojoTheWhale @flyershockey whats the deal with CB AJ Harris beyond his former ranking? Is he still salvageable?
It looks/sounds like he could be headed to Penn State.
They were honestly playing like shit prior to that Oregon game & I guess the mindset just carried over into the postseason. It’s not like the betting market has been great this bowl season anyway.

Sorry, I was down with COVID all week.
What FH said it exactly what I read too. They have Robinson coming into an already super crowded outside spot and wanted him to move. It's a good flyer to take because this is one of those where neither the player nor the school is really to blame. It's just an already super deep corner group adding a potential difference maker on top.
