Pretty much all of those schools have been cycling out coaches over the years. I think the key is having a really good coach & then having success. I think with today’s modern technology & stuff it’s easier to scout players than it used to be. You’ll still have guys that get better & guys that don’t but you’re not missing on a player simply because you don’t even know they exist anymore. So once you have a really high level of recruiting momentum it’s easier to sustain success for those schools.

So getting to the top is obviously hard. Even Georgia had its struggles at times getting there. But now they’re there it’s kind of on auto-pilot now.

UNLV losses Bobby Petrino & his baggage to get one of the hotter young names on the assistant market. If Marion has success there running their offense he’ll probably be an OC at a big school within a few years. He’s been on a fast track to this point.
