I barely watched UNC last year. Was kinda burned out after tracking Howell for a while, especially when they were awful. Apparently I should get back to it.

Maye is legit. PFF liked him & Williams better than all of the top guys in this current class this year.

North Carolina lost a good bit though including their OC & it’s looking like the beginning of the end for Mack Brown there. Maye might be the one that keeps afloat there some next year.

They need their Diyami Brown replacement.

One of the things that had me questioning Turner hard was an inability so far to make use of Brown in DC.

@JojoTheWhale i was listening to a podcast looking at next year & what the hypothetical opening season win totals by Vegas could be. When they got to Ohio State they wondered if this could be a year if they open 9.5 with Michigan, Penn State, & Notre Dame on the schedule with an unproven QB in the fold. I don’t even know the last time they had a season where Vegas opened them in the single digits.

WOW. That really would be a giant outlier. They sprinkled in an 11 here and there, but they've almost always been a 10.5 team this century.

My data goes back to 1998. After the laughable "down period" in the late 90s/early 00s, I have them as low as 9.5 by consensus opening line exactly once. That was coming into 2012 after the 6-7 Luke Fickell + Freshman Starter Braxton Miller year. That was also Urban's first season and they went 12-0.

Yeah I still think they could open up at 10. But if there was ever a year to this is probably the best opportunity that we’ve seen in some time.

USC & UCLA will be added to the Big Ten schedule in 2024. Ohio State has Texas on their 2025 schedule too. Probably didn’t make sense for them athletically or financially at this point.

Washington very well could be in the Big Ten by then though.
