Not a basketball fan, but will be watching the lottery to see what happens with the Knicks. Would be nice for them to land the #1 and sign Two Free Agents to put together a competitive roster to watch.

it's gonna be 5. If not, then it'll be 4.

Bulls / Cavs / Lakers will get 1-2-3 in some order

I hate how sure of this I am... it sucks soooo much being a non-Laker fan in LA. especially when most of my friends are primarily basketball fans.

Correct me if I’m wrong as I’m the most casual basketball fan possible. 1 and Zion is the jackpot, 2 and 3 are still really good and acceptable, 4 and 5 is a disaster. Does that summarize it right?

I didn't realize the Knicks have filler salary for a Davis trade. Need to get just to 22 mill of 27 mill Davis salary.
Garrett Ellenson Jenkins is about 5 million. That with Knox, the pick, DSJ or Ntilikina is enough salary for a Davis trade.

The 1st pick makes 9.8 mill. or around there.

Anyone know money for the second and third picks?

Same here. Don't care for basketball at all but Knicks fans deserve something good to happen to them for once.

Don't even need to worry about the salary. Knox, this year's first, and Lance Thomas get us pretty close. Add in DSJ (I think they keep Frank due to his defense and not needing to be the primary ball handler w/ Kyrie coming) and they are just about there. That would be the baseline for any deal. All the other players added in would be to increase the trade's value.

I'm pretty much sold on them getting one of Kyrie/Kemba. We don't need a primary ball handler outside of a backup that they can find. Also Trier could fill that role to some degree. If they are getting a big 3 like that, there will be a veteran that is willing to sign to be a backup PG.

almost right, with odds:

1 - Powerball Jackpot (14.0%)
2 - Elite (13.4%)
3 - Project (12.7%)
4/5 - Completely wasted season (59.9%)

The drop off after the top 3 is rough. I’d be happy with Zion, Morant or Barrett. After that? Ugh. Total crapshoot.

Hopefully New Orleans doesn’t feel the same.

The Suns really want Ja Morant. Have read too many things saying he fits what they want. I don't think there is any scenario they take him #1 if they get it. They'll do what Boston did. trade down and stockpile more assets on top of getting their guy at the 2nd or 3rd pick.

I really think that if the Knicks get #2 or #3, and the Suns win it, they should begin talking to them immediately. Swap 1sts, add in the Dallas firsts. Add in other pieces to get the #1 pick. Take Zion and don't trade for AD. Let the Pelicans lose another trading partner. The simple fact they didn't take every young player LA had at the deadline means they won't send him there. Let them suffer for that.

I wouldn’t consider RJ Barrett or Ja Morant a project with the third pick.
Well that's what they say about Barrett, that he needs work on his shot and has several shortcomings. It's not the end of the world if we get him at 3 - in fact we should consider ourselves lucky if we do get the #3 pick. Odds of a top 3 selection is 40.1%

I get that the league wants to discourage tanking, fine, but there needs to be a rule that a team cannot get more than one top 3 pick in any 10 year span. Or at least no more than one #1 pick in a decade. That would take Cleveland & Phoenix out of the running tonight
