Kadri has an NHL future for sure. No doubt about that.

Even as a third year pro, he's still a wildcard. Still has first line talent and real edge to his game. Still needs to round out his game though and it might never happen. At worst he's a third/fourth line PP/shootout specialist.

Kadri has immense potential and is a stubborn SOB which can make him his own worst enemy. Lots of people say he has been mishandled. Personally I don't think the Leafs mishandled him. It's just he plays in Toronto so everything get magnified. I think he just had a lot of bad habits that the Leafs we're trying to deal with. The Leafs were trying to show him that if you want to be a professional you've got to bring it every single time you step on the ice, in the gym, in the video sessions. Just like Crosby, Stamkos, Iginla and even a guy like Phaneuf who is incredibly intense.

Ultimately Kadri will be an NHL player but will it be with the Leafs. I doubt it. What Kadri brings at his maximum ability would help the Leafs (shifty/crafty playmaker with a bit of an edge) but ultimately his skillset is less needed then other skill sets (i.e. true first line center, star dman or goaltending).

So I believe he'll be used to address those other issues.

It is that edge and intensity along with the soft hands that will give him a regular NHL job, hopefully with us.

Can we or any team just give him a full try.

He's good enough for the NHL, it's time to get him better by actually putting him against NHL talent.

Longer than just 20 games at a time, he needs to grow with the team the entire time, as much time at least as Frattin/Gardiner got last year.

Trading Kadri would be a BIG mistake IMO...sadly one I think we will be making.

He's an amazing talent that has took a while to develop...but I'd love to have players on the Leafs that have something to prove to their critics and Kadri seems like one determined guy.

I want this entire Luongo saga to end...hopefully he just flat out denies to go to Toronto or something. I think Kadri is going to break out this year...hopefully it will be in Toronto.

I wish Kadri had a future with the Leafs. Still too young to give up on. But I can see what others are saying, he just seems destined to be traded without being given a solid run at a top 6 position. Great hands, physical when the aggressor. Agitator, chirpy..I would love to see this guy given a real chance.

As much as I hate to admit it, I voted no. I've loved Kadri from day one, while everyone else was *****ing about the pick at first, I was always happy with it. I've been a fan of his and have defended him countless times on this forum while other fans drop a nice big deuce on him every time. I was very excited to see Kadri play full-time in a Leafs jersey and have been anticipating him to play on this team for a long time.

Unfortunately though, he just hasn't been given a fair shake, and the timing has always been poor. He should've been on the team last season, but a late injury in training camp gave his spot to Frattin by default. Then this year, he's in great shape (in b4 "body fat", go **** yourself) and ready to go, but there's no NHL. He's been killing the AHL, but this was his year.

Now with all these trade rumours swirling around, and the fact that Nonis hasn't said a thing about him as part of our future while naming people like Colborne, Frattin and Ashton, it makes me believe that I won't get to watch him play another game in a Leafs uniform. I really, truly hope I am wrong, and I want to see him have a fair chance because I think he has the confidence and skill to do well, but with all of these Luongo rumours, I really feel like his time is done here soon.

The way some Leafs fans outright dismiss Nazem Kadri for no apparent reason reminds me of the age old Conn Smythe quote about Herb Carnegie. I feel like the general mood towards a skilled, slightly undersized, slightly pest-like 22 year old scoring a point a game in the AHL would be a lot different if his name was Rielly O'Ryan or something...

I really don't want kadri to be traded. I just feel that for all the crap he's been given my media and management and even fans/haters, he deserves a chance to prove them wrong by sticking and doing well with the Leafs. He is the players with the most raw offensive talent in our organization, drafted by us, developed by us for 3 years. It would just be sad and wrong to let him go just like that. Especially the year he's expected to stick with the Leafs. This year is his best chance yet, based on his play (ignoring the obvious dilemma of where to place him). His personality reminds me of burke's, outspoken, confident, and his drive to be the best nhl player he can be for the Leafs. He deserves a future with the Leafs, and he will flourish in the NHL. His talent was never a question and it never will be.

Seems to me that some people haven't watched him play since his first training camp, or maybe even junior. They just regurgitate the same comments about his play that they heard Bob McKenzie say on his draft day.

Just give him the opportunity to play full seasons in the NHL, have him learn and develop his game further and give him some quality players to play on the line with. This season is the time for him to start in the NHL.

Detroit has left their T Tatar in the AHL, he has 30 points in 34 games this year (14 goals).

Kadri looks like he's getting the Wings treatment. He has 26 points in 27 games (8 goals), in the same draft as Tatar.

I don't go to the Wings board, so I don't know if their fans are saying Tatar has been mistreated, or if they are used to the development time the Wings provide.

If Kadri is traded this will go against everything the fan base and management swore they would never support and repeat from past days. Giving up on prospects for older guys that will only come in and perform for a couple of years is not the way to go. Kadri has done everything that has been asked, was the best player in the 09 training camp but was sent down and crushed, asked to go to juniors and dominate, did that. Asked to make the world junior team and be among their best forwards, he started out as the 13th forward and found his way on the top line and won silver and put up 8 points in 6 games being the third best forward after Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle. Went deep into the playoffs in junior. Asked to get stronger and put on weight, which hindered his 2010 camp, so was sent down and asked to dominate in the AHL, did that. Called up to a struggling Leafs team and asked to provide a spark while only playing 10 minutes a night. 2011 camp was asked to get leaner and faster and that there would be a spot for him, gets hurt, loses his spot to Matt Frattin whom while I like, wasn't producing. Asked to stay in the minors and dominate while waiting for a call up, did so, scores 3 goals in 4 games, cools off in the next 7 or 8 games, only receiving 10-12 minutes of ice time in which Matthew Lombardi and Tim Connolly taking up his minutes with little to no offensive output and gets demoted. Sent down and asked to keep playing hard work on some things and promises the kid a call up. Carter Ashton gets on the team at the deadline, and with one call up left for the team to use, call up Carter Ashton over Nazem Kadri who was blazing in the AHL having 11 points in his last 6 games only to see Carter Ashton in 10 games provide no points averaging 14 minutes a game on the first line with a -10. Nazem gets called up for two games with the emergency recall in which he scores a goal and provides the shootout winner. Now asked to get stronger and leaner this summer, Kadri decides to take matters into his own hands by working with Gary Roberts who does charge his players roughly $15,000 for a summer workout program I know because one of my buddies is apart of bio steel, only to be told he has among the highest body fats on the Toronto Marlies which is happens to be one of the fittest and fastest teams in the AHL, starts of slow, gets benched, finds his game and takes the league into his hands and is at a point per game pace doing everything he has been told and removing the deficiencies in his game for example the neutral zone turnovers, inconsistent defensive play, and bonehead penalties, only to be possible trade bait for a 34 year old declining goalie? If he does get traded, I hope he terrorizes the Leafs every couple of months the Canucks play the Leafs, because this is the same sad story with Boyes, Rask, Neidermayer, the list goes on. This kid has everything you can want in a prospect, the hands, the shot, the vision, playmaking ability, was a leader in Kitchener was a leader in London is a young leader with the Marlies, is always among the best players on the ice wherever he goes, is an offensive spark plug, dynamite on the powerplay and always made the Leafs powerplay better when he was called up, has the speed, seriously what more does the fanbase and brass want from a guy? He is young, he'll be inconsistent, he'll occasionally do take out, he'll have the odd beer, but who are we to scrutinize every little thing this kid does when all he does is follow everything asked of him to do.

White space really would help.

He's probably amongst 20-30 players close to PPG in the AHL, including Niederreiter, Schenn, Zucker, Couturier, ...

Eberle and Schultz dominated but we're not expecting or demanding anything more than a good player in Kadri. He's coming along nicely. Savard never really broke out until he was 25, so we have to be patient.

This is amazing... Absolutely amazing story right from the beginning since Naz got here. There is absolutely nothing a poster can say after this, unless it's pure ****. This is THE KID. Future 60-70 point player.
