And with that, all important golf tournaments are done for 2023 - excepting the once every 4 years Ryder Cup. And, why yes, I am disregarding the f***ing FedEx Cup "playoffs."

PGA really needs to go back to playing the PGA championship in August, and then having something compelling in early October. Their calendar is completely wacko

Angels pick up 2 ex Nats from the Adam Eaton trade. And take Ohtani off the trade market.

I don’t see this ending well for them.

Been wondering what's going on with the Os lately, obviously playing well, I don't recognize a single name on their roster. Checked out the highlights from last night. Wow. Great pitching, incredible defense and a timely hit. Must be fun to follow them right now.

It certainly is. Best record in the AL, with arguably the youngest group of stars in the game. It’s so impressive

crazy how little Sr Pro‘s make…..$$447k for a Sr Open win….

I thought the R&A always paid less than the PGA Tour for the Open. The idea being the prestige should be enough. Pros back in the day used to complain about losing money to play in it, even if they won.

lol…Phil…never shy.

“What a colossal waste of time,” Mickelson tweeted. “Not a single player on LIV wants to play PGA Tour. It would require a public apology and restitution to LIV players for paying millions to Clout media to disparage all of us. A better topic is future sanctions for the many players who now come to LIV.”

Once cart-riding Tiger gets there, the purses will go up.
Totally thought the same thing….

We made a trade

Twitter comments hate it. But we aren’t keeping him and got 2 decent prospects. I don’t know why the Cubs are buying lol

And the Orioles continue to sit on their hands ….. yet continue to also win!?!?!

They’ve been playing the best of the best, for the most part — and keep winning. Another W tonite in Toronto.

They lost that series vs the Phillies, but that was a close back and forth. They’ve been doing well vs their AL East brethren.

Go O’s!!!

Aside from the obvious pitching improvements I'd chalk up their success to coaching and culture.

Feeding into the pitching is their plate discipline. Gone are the days of Adam Jones hacking at planes flying over the stadium. Every player in the lineup is clearly schooled in working the count and making the other team's pitching work for every out, which in turn makes our own pitching more effective and important.

The FO has done a great job of bringing in role players and I suspect there may be analytics behind it a la Moneyball, or else just some really good scouting. They've rebuilt the farm system and restored its glory from the years of the Ripken Way.

This is a much more cohesive and structured squad than in years past when there seemed to be little or no direction. It's interesting because Hyde more or less came out of nowhere and the first few years you could only see moderate improvements, but there seemed to be a confident stability brewing.

The Bird Bath and sprinkler stuff seems to come from all of that instead of creating it artificially like some lame corporate team-building scheme.

They're having fun playing the game and playing it well.

I was reading that they play Monopoly Cards (I didn’t know this was a thing) religiously. A huge group of the guys do. Allegedly it’s one of the closest knit clubhouses that players have ever seen.

Of course, winning a LOT helps that immeasurably, however this seems to go beyond that.

You also add to it, that almost of these guys are home grown and have literally grown up together, and they have a special bond.

It’s shows. They also have some dynamic charisma in their best young players (Adley, Gunnar, Westburg, etc) and many more on the way. So exciting to see.

It’s kinda upsetting. That the O’s are doing nothing. A top SP and or a top RP (or even a big bat) would’ve augmented the team nicely.

I mean, I get not spending our WAD of nuts on rentals etc…. But the pitchers are tiring and it seems reserves are needed.

This seems “chicken shit little” to me.
