How bout dem O's

TB was up a shitload with a hot start but O's hung in there and cut into that lead. I'm not an O's diehard by any means, stopped when the Nats came to town around 2005, but they are pretty good with young talent up and coming. Saw Jackson Holliday on Friday, and Gunnar Henderson , Rautschman are huge

My entire family is from Baltimore, and they were deeply ingrained in the city. I grew up walking to games with my grandfather at Memorial Stadium in the 80s. Ripken was (still is, if 40 something's can have childhood idols?) my idol. My dad used to tell stories of sneaking into the stadium to sell newspapers in the 50s and 60s, some of the World Series games in the 70s, the year they had 4 (5?) 20 game winners in their rotation ... That's how I was raised regarding the Os.

When the Nats came to town I fully embraced them - still do. I was at their first ever game, first playoff game, and first game in Nats Park. Love the team. But it doesn't wipe out the 20ish years of my Orioles 'first love'.

So I've been pretty excited to see them becoming relevant again over the past year and change, and can't wait until the Nats are up and coming again themselves. I'll cheer for them just as heartedly.

I try to go to at least one of their 'beltway battle's games every year. When I do so, I wear a Nats jersey with an Orioles hat.

Bold is me as well. One of the enduring memories with my Dad literally watching almost every O's televised games with my Dad on one the late 90's seasons while grinding my through college. I'm not wired to have a second team in pro sports but would wish them success sans playing against the Nationals.

Went to O’s game today with my dad. Nice to catch some exciting baseball for once. He went to hopkins so has fond memories of catching their games at the old park for 10 bucks

Those dodgers fans though…they’re everywhere. Surrounded by them. I remember the same thing in the 2019 nlds

If your the O's how much do you spend on adding at the deadline? They have the prospects depth to outbid anyone to get their targets.

Also remember in MLB the "trade deadline" is BS the real deadline is the waivers deadline a month from now. I remember the Tigers keeping Verlander at the deadline only to trade him a month later and he goes on to be the ace and wins a WS.

I think they changed that a year or two ago, it’s now 7/31 is it.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a guy (Finau) putt while IN a bunker, to get himself away from a wall so he could get out with his next.

The Angelos family haven't seen their big name checkbook in decades.

So $0

This is the prototypical Open Championship leaderboard. Love it.

Meanwhile, Justin Thomas is playing himself off of the Ryder Cup team... there must be some kind of injury we don't know about.

Fractured putterbone.

When your putting is bad and you know it everything else suffers. You start pressing trying to hit it close on every shot to avoid having to putt and your confidence goes to shit.

Ernie going off on the PGA Leadership….

“If this happened in my day, in my prime, there’s no way he’s around,” Els said, referring to Monahan.

“No way. And the board has to change. You do s*** like this. I’m sorry, it’s not right. Talk to us, tell us what you’re going to do, and plan on negotiating. Don’t just go rogue as a member of the board and come back with a deal and think we’re all going to say yes? You’re affecting people’s lives. You’re affecting the professional game. It’s just so bad.”

Damn Harmon is twitchy…..that’s a lot of looks at the target and ball and back to target…

Lots of likable names on the leaderboard, but Alex Fitzpatrick would be a killer winner….Tommy, JDay, Rhambo…..big names lurking a little back….

Harmon looking like he’s going to be one of those lightning strikes major winners…..

Nice story….would not expect him to win another ever if he holds on. Nothing but compelling names in striking distance….
