I’ve been to one A/N game I graduated and that was in Baltimore and it sucked. Games in Annapolis are 100x better. Annapolis is a perfect college football setting and NMCMS is a great place to watch a game.

Philly was a great host for A/N. I always froze my ass off at the game but we had a great time that weekend. I had a few friends who went to college in Philly and they always threw great parties when we were in town, plus there was always a good bar scene for the college crowd downtown.

Long story short: I shan’t be going to FedEx for A/N.

The M-W Dictionary definition of a colonial is someone who has lived or inhabited a colony. I suppose if you want to add the British connotation to it and then try to stretch some more there’s a tiny window you could peak through to find something to get upset over but this seems over the top.

Yeah, I think the debate over whether or not it’s offensive would violate the “no politics rule,” but for anyone wondering *why* people find it offensive, well, here’s the definition google gives when you search for “colonialism.”

We all know about the abuse of Native Americans. Removing clearly exploitative uses of their culture in creating mascots is reasonable. It directly relates to the people, their appearance, their customs, etc.

The problem is deeming "colonial" offensive opens the door to vilifying the entire history of this country based on a specific interpretation of a broader term. If we're talking about peaceful settlers who didn't exploit or kill anyone, or maybe even coexisted with natives, then there's nothing wrong with that. Not every colonial was a murdering imperialist.

Is "Yankees" similarly loaded?

Can "Jets" be considered problematic since we've used jet planes to kill innocent people?

How about "Cowboys" since that's linked to western expansion which was the driving force behind bloody conflicts with Native American tribes in the region?

It's just going too far, imo.
