Those evil colonists were more "progressive" than the natives who took their land from other natives in violent conflicts and enslaved them en masse.

It's almost like the Woke cultists are wildly ignorant of history and are merely drowning in resentment, tribalism, and open racism.
There are a lot of terrible, bad takes on this forum... but holy cow... this one is among the worst ever

Hahaha yeah, Puritans and convicts who owned slaves and wouldn't let women vote were founding "progressives". I guess using the anti-monarchy implication of the Enlightenment as a fulcrum for their desired economic schism with England overrides all that.

Colonial and colonialism are going to mean different things in different areas due to the regional and cultural implications. "Colonials" in America has a pretty specific meaning but colonialism is much broader.

Regardless, it seems like a stretch. I can see how they're making a connection by leaning less toward settlers and more toward imperialistic conquerors, but I don't know that I've ever heard anyone seriously complain about the name. Maybe someone launched a campaign recently.

Ultimately, it doesn't affect me one bit and I don't think it really hurts anyone so why have a tantrum over it?

Ok, I'm gonna blow your mind here. The people who did all the Colonialism? They were the Colonials! I guess you thought it was just a coincidence that they shared the first eight letters, but nope! I'm sure you weren't just pretending not to see the connection because you value intellectual honesty so much. Sorry I didn't clear that up earlier.
Maybe you can look up the definitions of nuance and context and attempt to apply them to your argument? You’d be surprised in how wide your world will open up when you actually consider those types of concepts when looking at things.

What was the rumour?
I believe it was from the Lock on Wizards daily podcast at one point that Portland has seemed more open to trading that 7th pick. I believe it was Simmons for Beal and pick swap and some other players.

It’s only 4 years….these guys might be like…..”ok we’ll see you 4 years and see what’s up“…..

Lines keep being drawn….they get to travel less, play less, get paid more, from what I’ve read, it’s all first class from caddies to players…..I can see why the middling guys took the $ and I can see why the big names did as well.

nobody is really going to be missed for a short few years….I want one of the LIV guys to get a major lead to make the drama more fun…

If the majors do become off-limits to LIV guys, I think golf fans will be surprised at how little of a deterrent that is to stopping players from jumping ship.

Anyway, Brookline is really great. We could use more US Opens here, and fewer at, say, Torrey Pines, or Winged Foot, or Bethpage.

In case anyone was wondering, Anthony Rendon is out for the year after getting wrist surgery. He’s played in 155 of their 387 games since being signed and they haven’t made the playoffs. He was also hitting .245 this year and had 5 home runs. Brutal stretch for him since leaving Washington but hey, he got paid so good for him.

Yeah noticed that. My dad was epically bitter when Rendon signed elsewhere but the Nationals look good at not resigning that said Stras has been a complete bust as well resigning.

Well Matt Fitzpatrick seems like a tool to me, but always fun to see a first time Major winner.
…And I don’t need to hear about Ouimet again for another 30 years….

I’d jettison Kyrie into the Sun….

"Did you know that this brother Kyrie Irving last season would conduct his own practices?" he said. "So when Steve Nash had the team on the floor, and they practiced, they would finish and he'd go and get five guys and conduct his own practice. ... Do you have any idea how disrespectful that is to Steve Nash?"

I like Immelman. Was a little wobbly at first which can be expected but turned out good.

Faldo wore out his thing a while ago. He mostly just roots for Euros now. Doesn't offer much else, imo.
