Watched some highlight vids. Good fundamentals player. Didn't see a lot of assists but I assume they're there. Seems like Wall with a much better outside shot and a little less flash on the lane drive.

Nzosa started this season projected as a lottery pick after an extremely impressive 2020-21 season as a 17-year-old who made a major impact in the ACB, but regressed in a highly disappointing fashion this year as his numbers plummeted in every category. Nzosa still has two major things working in his favor: He is incredibly agile for a player with a 7-4 wingspan and possesses outstanding defensive potential as a switchable center who can slide his feet on the perimeter, protect the rim and even chase down blocks in transition. Offensively, Nzosa is very limited at this stage, both because of his weak frame but also due to his poor hands and low skill level. The second-youngest player drafted in this class, the rave reviews Nzosa draws for his work ethic off the court and outstanding energy level made him interesting enough to warrant a draft pick despite how far away he looked from playing in a serious NBA game this year. -- Jonathan Givon

Loser: Washington Wizards

Johnny Davis isn't bad value at No. 10 overall, per se. He projects as a solid NBA role player. Plenty of teams at any range in the draft could use that. But the Wizards have spent the past decade hitting singles. Corey Kispert is fine. Deni Avdija is fine. Rui Hachimura is fine. But the team, obviously, is not fine. They've missed the playoffs in three of the past four years, and if they're going to escape the purgatory of the middle of the draft, it would probably behoove them to take a bigger swing.

Many of those swings were gone. Perhaps Washington would have tried its luck with someone like Daniels or Shaedon Sharpe if they could have, but there were certainly more ambitious picks on the table. Jalen Duren's athleticism would have made him a nice center partner for Kristaps Porzingis. A.J. Griffin comes with major injury concerns, but the best version of him has All-Star potential. One of these days, it would be nice to see the Wizards try to do something a bit bolder with one of their lottery picks. Now? We seem destined to repeat this conversation in a year.

Dont follow the NBA much, I try to support the Zards.

Radio this morning said he had the 3rd highest "use percentage" in the country but had a below average "pure shot" rating. They explained it as the guy was given the ball a lot. He wont have the ball nearly as much w Beal around and isnt a spot up 3 shooter (someone who can compliment Beal). But Davis plays defense and hustles so thats a nice change from our current lineup it seems.

AJ Griffin was a name people said they wanted. 18 year old out of Duke, 6'6", 46% from the 3. Needs work on defense.

At no. 10 in the NBA draft ... seems like its a crap shoot for any team but the Zards always seem to draft poorly.

^^ None of this is my own personal thoughts but just regurgitation from what Ive heard on morning sports radio on the drive in and what ive read.

His defense metrics in college are good as well. I like the pick. Watching some more scouting break downs he also can finish with contact and knows how to get to the line. Obviously he has stuff to work on including the 3 ball. Remember Beal came out of the draft as a big mid range type shooter as well and those earlier years rarely drove like he did the last few with some success. If Beal is traded or leaves also a good to have.
