He’s already said he’s going to opt out because he knows he is going to get paid. They’ll have to overpay to keep him and they will because Ted doesn’t know how to own a basketball team and doesn’t understand that in basketball if you’re going to be mediocre or bad you should just be really bad for a few seasons because one or two lottery picks can set you up for years to come.

Ted proudly states that he refuses to tank and thinks it’s for the fans when in reality most fans want them to tank so they’re not irrelevant like they are now.
Cuz we love DC Sports teams and they all pretty much STINK.

Also why were we not even looking at Wiseman? He got traded for a bunch of 2nds to save the luxury tax bc his rookie contract is high. He was a top prospect in the draft and barley has been given a chance.
Because Wizards?

Kuzma didn’t play. Good enough win, even though Indiana shouldn’t be someone they measure against…..but they are the same.

You look at 26-29. 3 less home games (IF win all 3, ?) so perhaps 29-29. Hmmm. There was also a TEN game losing streak. TEN!!

To have one of those and be .500 or so is weird.

National's prospects in Keith Law's top 100 (https://theathletic.com/4132943/2023/01/30/top-100-mlb-prospects-2023-keith-law/)

Not in the order ranking to be fair to the linkage.

Cade Cavalli
Elijah Green
Brady House
Robert Hassel
James Wood

Nationals a bit out of the top 10 in general prospect pool.
I don’t follow baseball prospects at all. Any “generational” talents coming up in the next few drafts that the Nats should have a decent shot at?

I’m actually not bummed they’re going to suck. Much easier to grab cheap seats that way and my kids aren’t old enough to care who wins so long as their bellies are full of delicious stadium food.

My own personal opinion not much can match a Harper (#1 draft pick), Strasburg (#1 draft pick), and Rendon (#6 draft pick) in consecutive drafts.

The high draft position players I'm at the prove me dev stage towards Rizzo and his ability to develop position players, which is terribad. From my mlb dev nerding the Nationals are 'traditional' in their draft prospecting versus data driven. Me should be a balance naturally but it sounds like the nationals are still firmly in the 'body looks like a mlb player'.

They did add more to their dev staff at all levels but my confidence is low.

I'm a Mets fan, the only issue I ever took with Lerner and it's more of a pet peeve is when Nationals Park was built he had the opportunity to have the U.S. Capitol dome in the view shed over the left field wall. You would have the view looking up north along South Capitol Street to one of the country's icons. That view during night games! It further would remind me of the old Senators logo that included the Capitol dome and the big W. But Lerner just could not resist the real estate side (dark side) and put parking garages and subsequent additional structures to obstruct what would have been a great view.
