Wiz actually rebounded from 20 down last night instead of blowing a 20 pt lead. Good to see.

Just saw this….as a fellow girl dad…..not very cool.

Also a girl dad and I think "misogyny" is a very strong accusation by the author. There's no evidence of hatred of women or discrimination, per the word's actual meaning.

It's a crude body fluid gag that would be insensitive toward women if it were meant to be mass-consumed--not because men and women hit the ball just as far (they don't), but because it's referencing that distance deficit via a period joke which is typically reserved only for female stand-up comediennes.

Not something that I'd ever do but not really "misogyny", either.

Maybe Tiger could've handed JT a gym membership card instead, then everyone would be happy.

Ha Tiger getting grilled about it in his post round presser right now.

He’s sorry to anyone who was offended and it was a joke between friends who joke around with each other all the time.

Are we really all upset about Tiger passing a tampon to another pro golfer?

I mean, really?

I’ve got a 9yr old and 6yr old girl. I didn’t think the “transaction” was meant as a slight to my kids, or to women. It was a slight to Thomas (by comparing to a woman, I get it…..but women mock dudes every day, and I’m sure they do to their female friends as well…..the sexes have *always* made fun of each other …. Come ON)

I think it's gross. Using "being like a woman" as an insult in any context is fairly misogynistic, but in sports, it's also f***ing tired. Being a woman or girl is not a synonym for weakness and lesser-ness.

upset? no. IDGAF about Tiger. But using a tampon as an insult doesn't impress.

It’s just outdated boorish dude humor at the expense of women….misogynistic isn’t a word I used…..but it’s pretty lame of him IMO. Don’t care enough to waste my time to get mad at Tiger Woods Lol….like sands in the hourglass…

They're fun to watch when healthy. They play absolutely no defense but they can score in bunches. If they're going to be mediocre at least let it be entertaining.
Was fun seeing those bitter Minny fans. Kispert is definitely coming along dev. wise.

It's not misogynistic if we're concerned about what the word actually means. It's probably somewhat sexist, though.

I don't think women golfers are lesser than men. They're incredible. But they don't hit the ball as far as men and that was the angle...the distance off the tee.

He could've gone with an old man jab and gotten the same point across. So it's kind of shitty but probably not as bad as Brennan made it out to be re: misogyny.

IMO these things become "problematic" when they start to promote stereotypes and negative images that just make things worse for people more than they provide entertainment via artistic speech. Since this was intended as a private joke and isn't really inventing anything nefarious I see it as more eavesdropping on a raunchy conversation, which we ALL have, than intentionally broadcasting sexism.

I'm sure some people are extremely offended, though.

The “it‘s just science“ defense doesn‘t hold much water…….”you hit like a girl, see they use these things, maybe you need one?“ was the “angle” lol…..

Look he’s apologized….everyone can move on, but it was in poor form and you’ll never see him do that in that setting again you can be sure.

Not sure what you're arguing about

I mean, if he’s going to do it in any setting, that’s the judgement, right? Not just that we captured on media? It is who he is.

My generation (I’m 53yr) of friends — within 10-15 yrs of me — certainly makes comments around this type of “humour”. So to see it in full focus and in front of the world was a little crazy. For sure. Ignorant even, maybe.

But I know that I’ve been around that male bravado for years and years. And I’ve participated in it. Now I have my 2 girls who I will do my best to make them never feel inferior to anyone. ANYONE.

I never felt malice when I was part of those types of comments, in thinking about it, however that’s not the point.

PS — It is juvenile, at best. Present company included.

You rushing to Tiger’s defense lol?

I only posted the link to the story. You then posted an article calling him a misogynist while citing your girl dad status.

Intended or not the message is Tiger hates women and anyone with a daughter should think so, too.

It's not my job to run PR for Tiger but I disagree with that and I explained why.

The End.

Sorry I didn’t write the article….but I don’t feel the need to defend him either. He f’ed up, he apologized. The end.

ESPN guys bashing the NBA for a guy who hasn’t played a second in the NBA this season, winning the dunk contest. “Why no stars?”
