That broken hand in the playoffs is a definitely what if.This again. The Wizards were winning in the mid 2010s when, what do you know, they tanked and got great young players in Wall and Beal. And then they added good players to that in Otto, Nene, Gortat, Paul Pierce, etc. Wall got hurt a few times and it ruined everything but they followed the blueprint that, *checks notes*, most of the league follows in order to field a competitive team and lo and behold, it worked.
Cleveland and Milwaukee are two of the top five teams in the East right now. I guess Cleveland is just a more desirable location for free agents than DC? The top five teams in the West are Denver, Memphis, Sacramento, New Orleans, and Dallas. Those huge markets must be able to spend more on free agents than small market teams I guess.
I'm not saying this team can ever win a championship but there's no reason they can't be good, other than Ted not allowing it to happen.
Decent win tonight starting off their five game roadie. Kuzma 1 of 2 to put them ahead with 5 seconds. Wright with the steel to end it. Got to keep that guy for next year.
