Hey ladies and gents. Opposing fan (Guardians fan) looking at coming up for the series next April. Any recommendations for good restaurants for pre or post-Nats game?

Thanks!

Where are you staying? The area around the stadium has grown up a lot and The Wharf is a brand new area close to the stadium as well. Salt Line was always my go to pre and post-Nats. It’s got a great outdoor bar or you can sit inside and with a solid beer menu and the food is good too.

Other recommendations would depend on the vibe and price point you’re looking at though and if you’re traveling with kids or not.

I guess you can "force" an owner out....
So sad. This guy gets the boot. But our guy gets to sit on his yacht while his wife “runs” the show.

PATHETIC

IMO this is a function of two main issues:

1) There are far fewer players in the NBA than the NFL so it only takes a few stars to speak up and call out the league on shit like this.

2) The NBA and NFL have some overlapping fanbase but there's a vocal, racist part of this country that will not watch the NBA, and view the NFL as their own personal American institution. I've had ...discussions... with some of these people and the way they talk about NBA players is disgusting. They view some NFL players in similar dehumanizing terms but tolerate their existence in order to grudgingly bet on them as they would a horse or a dog.

The NBA is a much more player-driven league. The NFL is more like the NHL where stars are important but they don’t drive the brand or run the show. The “Shield” will always win.

I feel like the NFL is halfway between the NBA and the NHL in terms of star-driven-ness. The NFL has the QB, a position unlike any other in team sports, and QB's are often touted on an individual level above their teams. It's not "Can the Green Bay Packers stop choking in the playoffs?" it's "Can Aaron Rodgers stop choking in the playoffs?" So the QB has a special level of star appeal to fans of the league as a whole and casual fans. But there aren't as many fans of individual players who will follow them from team-to-team (save New England bandwagoners following Brady to TB) like there are in the NBA.

I’m sorry but does the fact that someone doesn’t watch or give 2 shits about the NBA make them a racist or is it just that racists for the most part don’t watch the NBA? I’m asking for a friend…;)

Tell your friend if they're concerned they probably know the answer.

So the Celtics suspending their Head Coach for a forbidden (by policy) consensual relationship within the organization…

Seems fishy…..same suspension as Ron Artest for Malice in the Palace….hmm….

Wasn’t the Celtics coach suspended by the Celtics organization though? That’s different than being suspended by the league.
It’s totally weird…..

They’re saying on ESPN (Stephen A) “I can give you a list the length of my arm for the NBA, NFL, MLB. ETC….where owners, Execs, coaches, and players have inappropriate relationship or activities and NOBODY talks about that in sports, but this guy is suddenly dragged into the public eye and suspended harshly for something consensual?”……

lots of “why” questions IMO.

It is weird, especially since they’ve gone out of their way to say it was consensual. Why suspend a guy for an entire season for a consensual relationship?

Apparently. Just flipped it back on and the last 2 US groups gagging down the stretch.
It’s getting close again!

I like how the commentators are basically cheering for the internationals to try to keep it close.
