Germany looks much better with Sule in that fake RB position. 1-0 up against Mexico after half an hour, great corner by Sane, header by Gosens and goal by Rudiger, Germans taking advantage of their better height.

Not many chances in Brasil vs Uruguay. Brasil had a lot of the ball but Uruguay's high press didn't let them do much. Nuñez scores for us off a header from a great move and then pass from the winger Araujo. After the goal Uruguay went right back to high press. Before the end of the first half Neymar goes off in significant knee pain with Richarlison as the substitute. Ill be very surprised if Uruguay can maintain this level given how much energy they're using up.

Fun first half, but Müller really needs an OAP pass that lets him play a yard or two offsides to not hamstring the team.

Just as I was praising Sule, Chucky Lozano makes a fool out of him and passes for Mexico to equalize.

That's not on Süle, he was racing back into position to try to bail Rüdiger out of a 1-on-2. Like he got back around Lozano because he's faster than someone that big has any right being, but he wasn't actually in position and all Lozano did was go wide to send a cross in. I can't really blame anyone on that one.

Rüdi had a chance to break it up if he dealt with the first ball better, but there were two Mexicans fighting him for that ball. MAtS got his thigh to the final shot but it wasn't enough to knock it off track. And Tah had a chance to cut out the cross before it got to the Mexican attacker, but just like Süle, he was still racing back into position and not in a good position to actually intercept it despite being in the area.

Was just a very well executed counter attack after Müller's goal was called off for offsides by a fast team.

Yeah, he's played it before and his skillset is better suited to it than Tah...much better speed, and more comfortable on the ball in a crowd since he was a striker at the youth levels. Still don't love any of our current CBs for that role.

...shame Klostermann ended up so damn fragile, he would be perfect for that position...luckily Morgalla looks very promising playing a similar role for Salzburg, or at least he did before getting hurt 30 minutes into his u21 NT debut...

I'd say all your defenders were at fault for the goal, Rudiger with a lackadaisical first touch, Sule's serious lack of acceleration making Lozano fly twice by him, and Tah being caught in no man's land and not being close enough to the goalscorer.

Agree on Sule looking very comfortable on the ball, more comfortable than Musiala tonight for sure.

Was that Füllkrug getting ready? Hope it's for Müller

But none of those were really terrible errors. Great defenders make those plays, but we don't have great defenders, we have good ones. And good defenders only make those sometimes, so I can't exactly dump on any of them for not making a great play.

Talk about looking for a fight lol, love you too buddy

This game is a riot. Sule loses a header to a 1.60m dwarf on the Mexican team who puts them ahead, but Sane's on fire and he makes another goal for the Germans. Amazing save from Ochoa but Fullkrug shows why he should start and scores a typical number 9 goal to draw it.

I'm ready to just say f*** it and go with Schlotterbeck & Thiaw around Hummels. If Nico stays cursed for the NT then play Süle, but give the kids some run next to the grandpa.

All in all a fun game. We need to start Füllkrug and a holding 6 to win games, but Sane, Musiala, & Wirtz are just so much fun to watch together, and they seem to be gelling with Gosens & Gundogan.

Now if only Martel could come back from his injury ready to pull a Thiaw at the 6...

Second half was much of the same except Brasil maybe did even less. Uruguay got their second from de la Cruz who received a great pass from Nuñez who battled his butt off to give the pass.

Then and there
Benjamin Pavard with two goals yesterday against Scotland. Similar to one match he had for Bayern last season in the Bundesliga. Sometimes he just scores like one of the best strikers out there.

The Papu Gomez doping scandal is another stain on Argentina's world cup. He was on the juice during those two games he played for them.

Brazil Uruguay match is one of the contenders for most time players spent on the ground in one match award...

Worse thing is... If Argentina gets a second doped player in that WC, they officially lose their title...
Imagine the hilarious Ballon d'or ceremony!

Even if that happens, I hope Uefa/Fifa don't go the route of the athletics, were the medals winners are changed 15-20 years after the competition like 2004 Athens Olympics.

"""Terbutaline is used to prevent bronchospasm in patients with asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and other lung diseases.

So... does the guy have asthma or bronchitis or any other lung issue... but then he 'involuntarily' ingested the stuff... so then let me ask this.... who else not playing professional level sports accidentally ingests this stuff?
