Im not hopeful for Swedens chances. And its becuse of our coach. Zlatan should not play, he regressed this season and looked awful for out NT the last games he played. Kristofer Olsson sucks and yet somehow he will play over Mattias Svanberg. Elanga should start, but Janne Andersson will choose Quaison, Gudetti and Claesson instead. Cajuste is injured.

Isak
Forsberg - Elanga - Kulusevski
Ekdal - Svanberg
Augustinsson - Lindelöf - Joakim Nilsson - Gabriel Gudmundsson
Olsen

Is what i would start with. That team is just as good as Czehcs team.

Mings over Tomori :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
I don't think that was the thinking on Southgates end. Likely Guihi > Tomori to get the cap tie.

Mings seems to be one of his favorite guys to have in the dressing room and of course, he is also left-footed. I personally don't think Mings is good enough for this England squad but Southgate likes what he brings.

we all have our biases (and I know I have a Villa one), but I think Mings is probably a starter and possibly the best CB in that England squad

Tomori is unlucky but Southgate trusts Mings. He played well in his 2 starts at the Euro's when Maguire wasn't fit.

Timing of Bowen's injury is unlucky too.

I know we're off topic, but every time Ive seen Hause play he's looked like your best defender, and especilly miles better than that Konsa kid, as a Villa fan can you explain to me why he plays so little?

A lot of B-teamers in Flick's latest roster; including a debut for Anton Stach. I'm still not sure he's a full-time NTer, but I really like the kid. I get a lot of Kramer vibes from him and was consistently pleased with him for the U21s. Also returning to the squad are Julian Weigl, Benjamin Henrichs, Robin Koch, and Julian Draxler.

I read that Kouassi was available. Any truth to that?

There's been a lot of speculation about him getting loaned out this summer after Nagelsmann mentioned his lack of playing time in a recent interview with Bild as the reason why he still makes too many errors for them to rely on him more.

I'd wait to see if that one has any legs or if it's just the press speculating based on the quote from Nagelsmann's interview. There have been a ton of rumors flying around about Bayern & defenders since Süle's decision was announced.

It's interesting. Hause is borderline world class in aerial ability but is severely limited in the rest of his game. Hause is shaky at best when it comes to playing out from the back and I think that plays a role in it. Konsa generally is decent at doing that. I also think that Chambers might be a sneaky good signing, he is already playing quite well.

A large majority of our fan base believes that Konsa is our best CB and can almost do no wrong.... which is peculiar to me. Mings is the rock at the back no matter who is playing alongside him
