If you're trying to put us to sleep, it's working. :sarcasm:
Sure as shit stinks I'd rather be falling asleep checking out threads than the continuous eye rolling I get that gives me vertigo from so many of the takes.

Lets see if you nap through this one:laugh:

Sorry, I misled you. He's not in the band, he just really likes them.
I see, sounding an awful lot like an unnamed former mrs of mine.
Guess I took it too literally,my bad, didn't think you were Armenian in the first place. The kid has some good taste I see, your influence?
Always wanted to see them headline in an indoor venue but only in festivals and the sound was disappointing.
Any word on the guitar situation?

???

His father listened to a lot of Pink Floyd when he grew up, maybe it's a form of revenge? No news yet.

Not a country music fan but whenever I saw her perform on late night shows or getting interviewed, she came across as kind and likeable. RIP.

Didn't know that, thanks. They still suck.
A bit surprised coming from you, thought you were above lame overused jabs pertaining to music. East to say ''suck'' if not ones cup of tea,but then it's so easy to pan artists. Might as well say 99% of music sucks then if not more. Anyways the tens of millions if not hundreds of millions fans around the world think otherwise.

You're right. I shouldn't say SOAD music sucks, it obviously doesn't, it's just like you say, not my cup of tea. I recently downloaded a torrent with a few hundred new releases from around the world. Plenty of suckytude there though, especially from France. It seems they just discovered auto-tune and use it to excess. They all sound like f***in' robots, it's insulting really.
The best was from Africa, they sounded different and individual with a touch of traditionalism. There were a few good latin pieces and Asians all sound like 60's pop. There's a fine line between good performance and style and muzak made just to drown you out with a thumping bass, repetitive rhythm, and nonsensical lyrics, spoken not even sung.

Being a musician probably enters into my judgement, as I'm rather fussy when it comes to what's out there. I analyse every note. I'm not moved by most new music, regardless of style. There are exceptions, like Miley, but they're few and far in between. I have a penchant for female vocals, or instrumental stuff like Jeff Beck, I hardly listen to guy bands any more.

Just got done watching an old documentary on BTO on you tube, one of my all-time favorites! Randy rockin an old Canucks sweater, #25 with a C , pretty sure it was a homage to Orland Kurtenbach Nucks first captain if I recollect correctly. CF lifting weights and Blair Thornton on the ice with some of the Canucks. Very cool, brought me back to the mid-seventies

It's a semi free world. To expand slightly, it's easy to knock, as you're aware of, a genre one is not into. I find it lame to go out of ones way to review or critique a genre that will automatically be torn apart, common on the main board. I'm a fan of very diverse music and being a fan of so much,I feel free to say that a certain song sucks imo but I'm not throwing a band under the bus if I'm not into them in the first place.
Never heard much from France TBO,Daft punk is about all I know, and some songs are fine but not really my cup of tea. Seems to get international recognition a band need to sing in English:dunno:
I listen to a lot of different music but a lot from the homeland and my adopted homeland for obvious reasons and the mrs will introduce me to some of her homeland favs.

Some French artists have made it without resorting to English, but they're a rare breed.
What I heard hardly qualifies as music. I don't think there was a single instrument in some of the stuff I heard. It's strictly mechanical and binary.

I was lucky growing up, I had parents who could explain it to me, the mathematical portion was my mom's job using the piano, while my father would point out the various sections, and when they would come. Verse, chorus, bridge. 50's rock and MOR played a lot at our house. Needless to say, Feb 9 1964 shook up the household and things would never be the same again.

In north america? I can understand Europe as they are more open and diverse. I hear some crap in passing also, when an instrument is not used,do you cease to be a musician and merely a computer data enter-er?

How does that work? we had lessons and a piano but not all of us kept it up but did learn to read music which is long forgotten for me.:shakehead
What's MOR?
BTW,you got my birth date wrong:laugh:
