Habs getting Brodin(PMD-LHD) could be a great fit for Weber.:nod::nod:

Tbh I'd rather have Dumba. I like Brodin but this is the first year he ever broke 20 assists. I think Dumba could be a quality young player for years to come who seems to only be getting better.

Wouldn't cry if we got Brodin either tho.

...Drouin needs to be a 80+ player to overcome the potential departure of a guy who never reached 60 points?

What the... ?

Beautiful, trade our best prospect, future number 1 dman for a flaky soft headcase. Mr Big man in junior who hasn't amounted to ***** in the pros, I wonder if his name was Johnathan Smith if this trade would have happened.

Exactly....... why would you give up on the unknown?

Drouin is near PPG in the playoffs. Who do we have that's near his level of production in the playoffs ? Let's not depend on Pacioretty for another year please.

LOL at the folks suggesting now that we have JD we should trade one of our 30 goal scorers Max or Chucky.......yeah that math works ??????

Great to have Drouin on board btw!! I had a chance to watch him live throughout his Jr career.....great edge work, extra gear with the puck, very smart, exceptional vision, surprisingly hard shot & a very hard worker. At 22 still lots to look forward to.

exactly you ADD him to the crop, not trade 27. if anything move out older guys or don't resign Radu ad invest that miney elsewhere

I'm still miffed Clay Keller didn't fall to us.

I wanted Keller or Sergachev in the draft, with Keller being first. When Keller went to AZ I was far from surprised. Guy oozes talent and is dynamic. What we did was we took the next BPA and flipped him for a version of Keller that is further along in development.

I'm not saying Drouin = Keller, just that we got a dynamic young forward in the end regardless and this one is better for a team trying to win now.

Apparently if the cap doesn't go up enough, TJ Oshie will hit the market. Would you rather have Oshie or Radulov? I loved having Radulov but I think the answer is obvious, you go hard after TJ Oshie.

Good hockey trade by MB. Would look even better if we still had Subban but I'll take it.

I think this is a move towards win-now, whether they think Serg will take a few years or just think Drouin will have a bigger impact on the habs this year, for that reason I am happy with the trade.

But losing Serg, who I think is a future #1 hurts a lot.

I'm hoping they play one of Drouin or Galchenyuk at C full time this year, unless they move Chucky.

We will see, now they've put enough chips in the pot, they have to go.

One thing we have to also realize is while Sergachev is younger, It's not like the Weber-Subban trade where adding on 4 years makes a difference. Drouin is only 22 and hasn't entered his prime yet. So while we get older, it's not too drastic.
