This is ****ing terrible for Montreal. Even MaxPac vs McDo one on one is terrible. Not value vise, but team's needs wise. We have no scoring depth at all but we have some good defensive prospects. Why give our 40-45 goals scorer for more defense ?

I like homerism as much as the next guy but calling patches a 40-45 goal scorer is a bit of a stretch considering he's never hit 40.

That's like saying Ryan Kesler is a 40 goal scorer, only difference is he actually hit that mark one year.

with bergevin parting ways with subban to bring a 31 year old D man for 10more years, his idea is certainly not to win the cup in the 5years.

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Nash - Plekanec - gallagher

is what is making me willing to part good pieces.

bergevin did well to get what he did for subban. google fights with teammates and you come up with 11 guys subban had clashes with in seven years. you wont see weber running to be the first at the microphone. those last three years of that deal will also be a valuable trade chip as well because webers salary will be a million but the cap hit will be 7.8.Teams looking to get to the cap floor will be wanting that contract

Nah, Juulsen looks really good, ppl look at his stats but dont actually watch him play. How about 2nd + Plekanec?

Thats what I've been saying about Juulsen.

Don't you guys need scoring help though?

What about just Nash (50%) retained for Juulsen without you guys adding the second round pick?

Rangers would find a need for plekanac if they were getting a second round pick as well ( for hit him with your purse nash ) being moved.I wouldnt trade plekanac straight up for nash.

ur crazy then. Both are players with not much value cuz of their contract and age.
And in a 1v1 trade, nash is alot better esp to the habs with thier new found desire for offense and need of bigger players.

Nash is a floater with no heart. Night in and night out plekanac plays against the crosbies stamkos giroux tavares bergeron .

btw if plek starts on the second line with wingers such as gallagher, radulov and lehkonen, none who are 2 way threats, his role will change from shutdown to scoring. Meaning he wont play vs top lines anymore.

So what do we do when we play someone like the penguins with three scoring lines ? Go with three checking lines ?
