Talented yes, good player, nope! He had his chances and just couldn't contribute. Too bad the Habs couldn't get a pick for him instead or Martinsen. IMO, Sven is worth a 4th

I already said that he cleared waivers and no one claimed him. Why would anyone move a pick for him now..?

We easily lost this trade, Andrighetto will be a good player, heck hes already a good player.

That being said he did go through waivers and no one claimed him, always felt like he never got a chance to prove himself. Underrated player.

That is one POV from Habs fans and the other, which agrees with the other GMs that passed on him on waivers, is that he is overrated.

Personally, outside of brief (very brief) glimpses, Ghetto hasn't showed much as far as being an NHLer. To me, his career screams of Matt D'Agostini wherein that the potential may be there but there is no sign that it will come together.

Habs fans should be worried. Clode has a tendency to play reliable grinders over skill guys. Any young guys who may be defensively inept yet able to drive offense are going to be benched so fast.

Well at least it is finally understood that small guys have no place in the NHL. perhaps room for 1 small guy/team and thats it = gallagher.

Get rid of byron next and we will be in the clear.

So many Habs fans thought Sven Andrighetto would be a cornerstone of a Duchene or Landeskog trade for so long, he was the second coming of their Ryder, Halak, 2nd packages.

Surely this is disappointing to them, even if he has already cleared waivers once this season.

He doesn't have many skill players to play them over anyway, so it's not too much of an issue :help:

Someone got fleeced here... but I really have no idea who or why and I'll wager no one else does.

No one got fleeced. Bottom liner for bottom liner. Ghetto has some tools but he has a hard time finding his toolbox. Went through waivers and unclaimed this year.

Habs are going for size in the bottom 6

Doesn't this sound familiar to habs fans lol

It's a good trade, Andrighetto was fck useless on the bottom 6, in his case, its either top 6 or AHL!

So we replace Desharnais and Andrighetto for Ott, King and Martinsen!

I think those are good moves, we just need to get a top 6!

We need Vrbata!

Sven is a guy who is going to look good in europe next year. Not good enough to play top six minutes, not good enough defensivley to play a bottom six role, and to good for the AHL.

We had a trade in the works, but they didn't want to play in Montreal....

Everything I saw was offer with Juulsen, McCaron, Sherbak, Beaulieu, 1st, 2nd or even Sergachev, so I know it's fun saying fake stuff, but be at least somewhat accurate to be funny.

Thats a horrible trade for Habs. Martinsen is not good. He is big, can hit but he is not a very good NHL player. Believe me, i have watched him alot because i am norwegian. I want him to be good because we need other players than Zuccarello in the NHL for the sport to grow in our country but Martinsen is the definition of a 4th liner who will never be more than a 4th liner.
If you want to run 4 lines, you cant have a player like Martinsen in your lineup. Just not good enough imo. I said before the season that if Avs are playing him regularly they have depth problems at forward position. Which they clearly have. Andrighetto can easily be a decent middle 6 forward going forward. No chance Martinsen can be anything close to that. Steal for Avs.

You know those charts are useful when they suggest a player who cleared waivers this season is a borderline 1st line player...

Should have kept Andrighetto. He was a good temporary alternative when a top 6 winger was injured.

probably King's job now

Pacio - Danault - Radulov
Lehkonen - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Byron - Plekanec - Shaw
King - Mitchell - 1 of the 4th liners

Don't mind the trade Ghetto is a great AHL player but isn't anything more than a 13th foward in the NHL. If Martinsen is also that, well we don't lose anything. (ghetto wasn't getting resigned)
