You know those charts are useful when they suggest a player who cleared waivers this season is a borderline 1st line player...

I have never said he is close to that and the chart alone doesnt mean someone is a first liner or a second liner. You arent a first liner just because you have a decent chart and i have never said it. If you read the rest of my post you can actually see that i said from watching Martinsen alot that he is a 4th line player at best and Andrighetto can very likely be a decent middle 6 forward going forward. Im just saying he is and will be alot better than Martinsen going forward.

Ghetto is not a middle 6 player. He's too small and weak and not enough talent.

probably King's job now

Pacio - Danault - Radulov
Lehkonen - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Byron - Plekanec - Shaw
King - Mitchell - 1 of the 4th liners

Don't mind the trade Ghetto is a great AHL player but isn't anything more than a 13th foward in the NHL. If Martinsen is also that, well we don't lose anything. (ghetto wasn't getting resigned)

That is one unimpressive group of 12.

The Habs are gonna be a real pain to play against, if they weren't already.

He is 23, averages 11 min a game. Decent point per 60, pretty good possesion numbers etc. The chances of him becoming a decent middle 6 player is alot higher than Martinsen becoming one thats for sure.

Play them on the 4th line maybe?

Yes, but hard to choose the fourth line with so many options. It's like when you are at home looking for something to eat for dinner. You have some leftovers from last weekend or last week, but nothing that you really want to eat. You'll end up choosing something after being undecisive during 2 hours and eat whatever just for the sakes of eating because you have to eat something at some poin. And after all, you've paid for the food, maybe small price, but still. You have already eaten all the good food and you're too lazy to go get some more so you stick with the easy option, the not so tasty food. I guess Bergevin is not much of a foodie.

I'll always remember that epic 1,000 post thread on Andrighetto getting waived and sent to the Ice Caps.

I would consider this a horrible trade for the AVs, but considering Martinsen (UFA) vs Andrighetto (RFA) this might not be as terrible.

With approx. 30 games remaining, the AVS have an affordable player tryout. If this doesn't work, they can release him as they would have likely done with Martinse.

Sven Andrighetto is an offensive forward with very good speed. Owns strong offensive instincts and has a nose for the net. Possesses decent puck skills and very good vision, as he sees the ice well and can create scoring chances for his teammates. Andrighetto plays a reliable two-way game and competes hard for the puck at both ends of the ice. Needs to get stronger in order to stand his ground along the boards, as he has still plenty of room to bulk up. Is a versatile player, who can line-up as center or wing. According to eliteprospects.

He can't be that bad of a player for a bottom 6 guy, can he?

This scouting report seems very optimistic about Sven. (To the point of exaggeration)

Why did MB make this move? Makes no sense. He gave up a potential 3rd line scorer for nothing.

The way I see this, Montréal gives a favor to Colorado to geting rid of a contract in Martinsen. Ghetto would go on waivers if not trade anyway.

Martinsen should go on waivers too
