If I'm GM and assume DK46 and PB37 want to come back:

Sign DK and PB: 2 mill x 1
Sign Orlov 4x4
Sign Swayman 3.5x2
Sign bertuzzi 5x5
Sign Schenn 1.5x1
Sign Freddy 2x 2
Perry 1x750k
Nosek 1x750k

Trade:

Ullmark+Debrusk for Konecny.
Coyle for picks/ get a 2nd
Gryz for 2nd
Forbert for anything.
Reilly for anything (easier to move now)

Let Hathaway Foligno Clifton walk.

Hall Krech Pasta
Bertuzzi Zacha Konecny
Marchand Bergeron Freddy
Lauko Nosek Perry

Lindholm Mac
Orlov Carlo
Zboril Schenn
Lohrie

Swayman
Bussi

Let Freddy ride a season with Bergeron and Marchand.

add Konecny for some grit. Philly gets a 25 goal scorer and a true #1.

lets see what Zboril can do. Schenn can protect him.

Let's see how Zacha does in a full season as top 6 center.

Hopefully Bussi can stay sharp.
Konecny is a beauty. The kind of player I'd want next playoffs. Some good angles here!

While I would like to add a Lucic, Burroughs or Sabourin to the 4th line, 3rd d pair it's not what I am talking about, I just want Coyle and Carlo to not be literal punching bags.

I do feel adding guys like McBain, Accari, et al, fast, aggressive forecheckers is vital.,
Too lazy to look up but is Acciara A) a UFA? B) Less expensive replacement for Nosek?

I'm sick of him to a certain degree. 7 years of the Trent Frederic experiment. I'm tired of them wasting time, effort, and money developing him as this power forward winger that he absolutely isn't.

As a fan, I'm just F&^%%^% sick of him on my favorite teams roster all season just to get healthy scratched come playoff time. If he's moved out this summer I won't shed a single tear. Despite fairly decent, albeit inconsistent, production in the regular season, his coach still didn't find much use for him in the playoffs, where "Power Forwards" are suppose to be more impactful. A supposed big physical player they didn't have a role for.

He's heading into his 6th professional season and what is he exactly? He's not a scorer. He's not a relied upon defensive player nor does he kill penalties regularly. Isn't physical on a consistent basis. Maybe that's why his coaches seem to forget about him come playoff time. He needs to carve out a niche in the NHL sooner rather than later and that niche isn't fighting and yapping.

If I'm Monty I'm telling him to get working on his face-offs during the summer, cause he's going back to center.
Neither Monty, or Butch gave him a long enough look at center which is what/where he was drafted for. He even said he wants to play center. He can't just decide to play there, he needs to be put there as you know by the coach.

I wouldn’t hate it, but would rather they just run with what they have in the system- Beecher or McLaughlin I guess. Any bit they can save helps especially if signing Bert is on the table.

The team seems to hate the very thought of short centers.

But he'd be a good add if they plan on running Frederic as 4th line C.

The injured bum Krejci that made Coyle play like shit in games 5-7 had more points in game 7 than Coyle did all series.
Yeah for sure. Coyle needs to actually produce regardless of his defensive prowess.

But signed Merkulov, and drafted Poitras and Spicer. Prob to play wing.

Ok, who do you want from Edmonton for one of the goalies?? Although they may be hamstrung by the Campbell contract.

A first round pick and any one year deal that comes off the cap at the end of 2023-2024

I'd say he'll cost more than Nosek.

Reality is that Nosek will need to be replaced by someone making basically near league minimum. They'll need that 750k-1 mil difference between what Nosek made last year and that near-minimum replacement.

Thanks!

I think this team needs a few tweaks. Sucks getting rid of the players mentioned but I look at it this way.

Ullmark/Debrusk:

There value will never be higher than now. Ullmark should win the vezina and Debrusk has looked strong next to PB and BM. Will he be as strong without them?

Gryz: he's a solid 4-5 D anywhere in the league and has value for sure.

Coyle- same as Gryz. Solid 3rd line center but that really is it. He can't be counted on for extended periods in the top 6.

I'd say the entire league is adverse to short centers really. The center ice position has been trending towards taller centers for awhile now. The short guys tend to end up on the wing. Not surprising considering how much defensive responsibility down low center men have now. They are basically 3rd D-men.

Ready to move on from Marchy/Bergeron/Krejci, regardless of how ugly it gets right away.

He wasn’t even particularly good defensively. In the last 4 game 7s going back to the 2019-2020 season he has a total of 0-0-0 -6. No points and a -6. He is the opposite of clutch, time to take the team in a new direction. You can add game 7 against the Blues in 2019, 0-0-0 0.

Foegele and a first.

Foegele can play either wing and might be a good fit on the 3rd line with Coyle.

Swayman, Carlo and Grzy…whatever, for Draisaitl?

Swayman coulf be swapped for the Ullmark, but i doubt that he’s not the one Edmonton would be looking for.
Doubt Oil entertains moving Draisaitl. If so the line of offers would be long.

Would start with Swayman, DeBrusk, Carlo & keep adding. I bet Marchand would look fantastic on McDavid’s LW. Catch them while they’re still emotional about the 2nd round loss:

Marchand
Swayman
DeBrusk
Grzelcyk

Bertuzzi • Draisaitl • Pastrnak
Hall • Zacha • Lysell*

Lindholm • McAvoy
Orlov • Carlo
Physical dmen 3rd pair

What level of return would it have to be where you’d even consider moving Swayman instead of Ullmark? Cause he’s younger and has no trade protection, so I’d think he’d bring back a much larger return then Ullmark.

I don't think any team is about to give up a ransom for a goaltender in today's climate. Ullmark, Swayman, doesn't matter.

A few years ago, I remember having a conversation with Oilers fans if they would entertain something around DeBrusk + Carlo for Draisaitl, they responded with Pastrnak and McAvoy. Fast forward a few years, Draisaitl is one of the best players in the league, Pastrnak is one of the best wingers in the league, and McAvoy is a #1D.

To entertain any offers from the Bruins, I think they would have to at least start with Pastrnak.

Package for a young top 6 center.

I wish management had the stones to do this

I’d trade Ullmark for a first. I’d even eat some salary if it was up to me to better the return

Marchand is the only player I wouldn't trade...everyone else up for grabs!

Probably the one player who could significantly ignite a faster rebuild if he were traded.
