Last year when they had a 3-1 lead everyone said the same thing. "Oh this Leafs team is different."

These guys just never earn my trust until they show they do have killer instinct and win.
Yup

Until they win that 4th game, nothing they do makes them any different then any other year

TBL start Colton, Point, Paul and Keefe starts the Kampf line with Holl and Gio. WTF is this guy scared of? Let Matthews and Marner run over these guys. Coaching scared kills your players confidence. Bad coaching from top to bottom.

Matthews already barely plays with all the penalties. Why should he have to wait 3 shifts to get on the ice? Keefe sucks

Remember in Game 4 that they can choose who they put out after we do. If Keefe started Matthews/Marner, they likely send out the Point line and not their 3rd line.

Game 5, I imagine it will be our top guys unless they don't want to match them up with one particular line.

everyone is complaining about Holl and Tavares... meanwhile Matthews has been out for a gentle skate for 2, arguably 3 games straight. At this point I hope it's an injury because the alternative is that he has no "next level". Complete lack of intensity and he's supposed to be leading our team. He talked a big game this season regarding playoffs and I just haven't seen it outside of game one when Tampa looked underprepared and didn't impose themselves much on our stars.

Time to stop the sulking and dig in big guy.

McJesus tried hard last night despite not scoring any pts. We haven't seen the compete from Matthews since his awesome assist in game 2 that created Buntings' goal.

Probably because it was a blowout so the goal didn't mean much.
his goal made it 5-3 with some time to score 2, they wouldn't have pulled their goalie if it was a blowout, the empty netters made this a blowout. I agree that for much of this game it was a blowout, but Nylander's goal made this closer and I thought there should've been some emotion.

It was still a longshot to make a comeback. If that was a 5-4 goal, different story.

Yeah this game was just such a poor effort on the part of nearly every player on the Leafs team. It was a sad sight to see them not start on time, and not really get emotional until the last 10 mins or so. Where was all that attempted chippyness after they went down 3 goals 7 minutes into the game? Really pathetic effort.

His first goal made it 5-1. His second goal made it 5-2. The score was never 5-3.

This game was on Keefe == on multiple levels. Why would a coach make a comment that they came for a split before the 4th game was played? What are you doing when you say that? Basically, you're taking your team off the hook for losing game 4. So stupid i can't believe it.

And there is this: take the best Leaf line all year, and when Bunting comes back, he scores a goal the first game back, so put him on the 4th line?? I don't care how injured he is -- he is playing, and M and M are used to him there.

Then there is Holl........

If you want to win a game, you don't say its ok to lose before it. That game could be the turning point, not just for the Leafs, but in Keefe's career...

Refs are inconsistent, that’s not new. It’s also beneficial to the leafs at times, and almost always evens out in the end.
its not beneficial at all. Matthews and Marner dont get to play 5on5 and that takes the Leafs out of the series. Tampa Bay just wants calls.

It benefited Toronto in game 4. Hedman gets a tripping penalty for sliding into a player in the same game where Rielly doesn’t get a penalty for the same thing. If the referees are consistent, Hedman doesn’t get a penalty.

The Leafs are averaging 28 MINUTES in penalties per game. But keep telling us how this is just inconsistency that leads to a team in the bottom of the NHL in penalties to suddenly be averaging half of every game in the box...

Also, you're using an example from a game in which the Lightning got EIGHT power plays to the Leafs getting THREE.

Remarkable isn't it.
