I’m not sure what people think of ehlers outside of jets fans, but he seems underrated within the jets circle

TSN is a distortion. Too bad they're all about bigger Canadian markets. Fans of Central division teams likely respect Winnipeg's roster. They've had a good roster for a while.

Call it bias but at this point Binnington is genuinely supremely underrated by a sizable portion of fans. The hatred people have for his antics have completely blinded them from viewing him objectively. He's a genuine Vezina candidate this year. This guy has played behind some truly awful defensive systems and personnel the past couple of years. Anyone who has watched him play consistently knows he passes the eye test year after year, even if that awful defense sometimes harms his numbers. He's the main reason the Blues are probably going to finish right outside of the playoffs rather than get a top 8 pick. Don't be surprised if he makes Team Canada in 2025 and 2026.
Binnington is a good call.

Robert Thomas is another name from the Blues. I don’t think people, even some Blues fans, really understand he is having an ELITE top 10 franchise 1C type of season right now. Guy does not get the attention he deserves from the national media.

I feel like a lot of the best players in Central division never get shine (outside the Avs)

Robert Thomas
Filip Forsberg
Roman Josi
Clayton Keller
Mark Scheifele
Josh Morrissey
Jason Robertson
Miro Heiskanen
Kirill Kaprizov
Good list, but you’re forgetting Kyle Connor!

I somewhat jokingly suggested a Kyrou+Thomas trade for Brady Tkachuk, and a Blues fan said he wouldn’t do Thomas for Tkachuk by itself. Lookin at the numbers this year, damn, dude kinda opened my eyes a bit. Then I made a poll, and Tkachuk was solidly ahead last I checked.

I’d still gotta project ahead and get into advanced shit, but Thomas is so much better this year and plays the more important position. So ya, he’s a good mention.

Janson Harkins. Mike Sullivan will fight you to the death on it.
Jansen has a deceptively good shot. He's dangerous out there.

On a more serious note, from the Penguins it's definitely Marcus Pettersson. A guy who has blossomed into a true 1LD defensive d-man. Dude became an absolute stud starting last season and has doubled down this year. An absolute beast, one of the best in the league at what he does.

Some great answers so far. My first thought was nichushkin. From the sens it's giroux. He has been so so good the last 2 years, says something about how strong this core is that they can have him play like this and still fail. He has been mostly pp2 the last 2 years.

Dylan Strome is actually a good answer I think too. Doesn't get much love and produces a lot when given the minutes

Guentzel is underrated by nhl GMs
