Phillip Di Giuseppe - Compliments J.t Miller and Brock Boeser perfectly. Grinds it out night in and out. Does a little bit of everything on a line that is out producing the first line 5 on 5.
Thanks for telling me how to spell his name. In every Nucks game I've caught this year, he's been more active than most winning races to pucks and creating chances.

Greer. Since joining our team he's made smart simple plays, had multiple heads-up passes, a couple breakaways, and he's defended teammates.

He's able to do that consistently on the fourth line. I hold no illusion that he should be moved up.. but.. he's fantastic at his role.

Awesome waiver pick up and I hope he's found a home here for a long time. Heart and soul guy, definitely.

Is Mitch Marner overrated? To me, he’s a great player but not a “special” one that can compete with the superstars of the league.

Tavares

Everyone wants the downfall, but it just can’t happen.

Gallagher is having himself a good season right now

Darnell Nurse. The man plays huge minutes against the best players all of the time.

Makes mistakes like literally any fast skating defensemen. Good player
They all have pretty big contracts to be in the underrated tier

For me on the Canes it's Jordan Staal. On the one hand he's super well known. But he's possibly/probably the best defensive forward in the NHL. He regularly plays with 4th line grinders and has gaudy defensive numbers. It's like in football how you have a run offense which gains 3 yards every down and wears down the opponent's defense.

Matthieu Joseph in Ottawa. Supposedly Briere wanted a first for Ottawa to dump the contract prior to Pinto’s suspension. Finally being fully recovered from an injury that bothered him last season, Joseph has become a 2-way beast for the Senators who can play up and down the line up. I don’t think his name pops up in opposing fans as a valuable contributor.

I always liked Danton Heinen in his first run in Boston. Dude is still killing it in the bottom 6 so far in his 2nd stint. Excellent defensively and empties his bucket every shift. Love that we have him back especially if Looch is confirmed to be a scumbag piece of shit.

Idk if he's underrated necessarily, but you won't find a GM or aspiring GM in the league who wouldn't kill for Brandon Carlo on their team. Outside fans have asked me before who I'd prefer between him and Matt Grzelcyk thinking that Matt Grzelcyk is on the same level, and no offense to Grizz, but Carlo is a whole tier above him and just about always has been.

Not a bad choice, he get fan trashed to no avail.

Evander Kane, like the persona or not is such a great package of size, skill and toughness. Also got decent speed, agility and hand. And he extra built for post season.

I was going to mention Kane also.

I’d add Foegele outside of his stone hands. Guys a competitive and useful player that can play up and down the lineup and HFboards has attempted to convince me he’s a worthless cap dump of a player.

If every player on the team showed up game in game out to play a full 60 like Foegele does we’d be the contenders the media predicted us to be.

Mikey Anderson.

He's one of the best defensive defensemen in the league and is rarely discussed.
I hear his full name 25 times per game. Canadian TV guys go overboard with it... they seem to be compulsive about saying Mickey. American broadcasts too? If he's underated it's not due to a lack of exposure. Not something that matters, just something I've found odd.

Tough to choose between Michael Mcleod and Curtis Lazar but id say Lazar.

He's a meat and potato's 4th line guy that will do anything to help his team win. He's already tied his points from last season with the Canucks in 30 less games and has stood up for his teammates and blocked shots. Every team wants a guy like him and I'm glad he's with the Devils.
