Next time Ridley should stop skating, turn around and fire a slapshot at Morgan's head and if he misses with the puck he should target Morgans head with a two handed crosscheck.

Hockey culture is whacked...Ridley broke no rules, Morgan had all sorts of options to approach Ridley however chose to assault him, a union brother none the less...with a weapon to the head... the leafs coach and a few players think that what Morgan did was OKAY...

what a f***ed up world
That is an over dramatic version of events.

Then denounce Reilly for appealing the suspension that he 100% deserved.
The NHLPA appealed the suspension.

Guy seems to have anger issues. And his actions also hurt his team.
It may have galvanized the Leafs as they feel they have been unfairly prosecuted as they are now 2-0. I'm interested in seeing how they treat Ottawa in their last meeting. As they normally just sleepwalk into those games.

how is it over dramatic?

Ridley and the Sens outwork and beat the Morgan and the leafs, Ridley puts an exclamation point on the WIN!

Morgan proceeds to be an entitled sore loser and assault a fellow union member in the head with a weapon as a result.

Now, you don't think Reilly's reaction to it was hostile, negative and an over-reaction. That is an epic flip flop.

I do think Reilly's action was hostile and negative. There's kids watching, gonna learn that it's okay to cross check someone in the head if they hurt your feelings on the ice. A detriment to hockey.

or just dont do disrespectful shit to the team your playing. Greig has no one but himself to blame for a response. He knew 100% something was coming, maybe not a cross check to the face but something. Grieg is a moron if he thought that go unanswered
why dont you have that same disrespectful attitude toward Morgan being a spoiled entitled little brat being a sore loser to the point that he makes a conscious decision to intentionally take a weapon in two hands to attack a fellow union member in the head

When have I been supporting the crosscheck here?

Id rather Rielly drop the gloves and fight Grieg. way he handled it was too much but Greig deserved a response for that.

it's obvious you just dont understand hockey and the code they have. there are somethings you just cant do and get away with it. even in other sports

Wont somebody think of the kids?!?!?!

You know theres literal fights that happen on the ice, and massive hits that knock people out. But this incident, no, we need to protect the kids!

99% of leafs fans think he should be suspended.

What we are saying is

1) We loved the response
2) We want a response more often
3) Thank you Ridly Greig for turning our season around.

1 should say loved there was A response not THE response.
3 is a rather pitiful reach. Narratives already being written over savior Reilly leading the coach and players to rally?

Did you even watch any playoff games when the hawks had a powerhouse of a team, check out youtube, Wakey Wakey Backes or when Jeff Carter was slashed in the face but Morgan Rielly is goon 2.0 on these boards.

Well I've heard one ex NHLer take Greigs side, Lundqvist. I've heard a lot more criticize him, so yes that would be a majority. Feel free to counter by posting all the non-Sens players defending it.
So a majority of the videos you've watched (which is what, 5? 6?), and not necessarily a majority of the NHL.

Ive seen a decent amount of NHLers comment on it more agreeing but all also agreed the crosscheck was too much. but a response was needed. not all 700 members but dont need to. a small chunk of it is more than enough. their opinions on it mean ALOT more than yours
I see and what about the VAST majority of NHL members that have not mentioned anything?

How do you know that they are not absolutely disgusted by Morgans cowardly, unprofessional, disrespectful, dangerous and entitled reaction as a being a SORE loser?

why? been fine for over 100 years but now its too much? I guess its fine for kids to play GTA or watch violent tv but oh no cant have it in a physical sport that is actually violent.

Why even have a hearing, that scoundrel should have just volunteered to sit for five games!

The takes about him appealing have to be the dumbest takes in an event mirred with dumb takes.

To be fair, when responding to the idea that shooting a puck too hard into an empty net sets a negative example for kids, I think the argument holds a lot more weight. Again, the poster was worried about the example shooting a puck too hard into a net sets for kids.

so let's see Greig do the exact same thing to all the other NHL clubs and see how many do or don't give a response. Id be willing to bet that not a single one lets it go
When will you Leaf fans figure out the slap shot was for all of the Leaf fans in attendance at the CTC? This wouldn't have happened under any other circumstance.

Reilly didn’t have to cross check him in the head well after the play was over. But here we are. Reilly’s feelings got hurt, so he acted the fool.
People have emotions. Its a crazy concept, i know. Rielly is the first player ever to act out against something he didnt like.

yeah hockey players do stupid things very often. I already agreed that he shouldn't have cross checked him in the head but for sure should have done something. cant let players get away with shit like that. disrespect your entire franchise.

Marner does it on a daily basis.

Wish morgan would club him in the mouth and teach him a lesson about respecting the Leaf.

Any "code" in which it is somehow unsportsmanlike and offensive to fire a slapshot at an empty yet, yet at the same time not far worse to act like a sore loser and purposefully cross checking an opponent, isn't worth its salt.

No matter how you slice it, the act committed by Rielly is worlds more egregious than what Greig did, and a far bigger violation of of any "code" hockey may have. If you can't handle being scored on - regardless of how it happens - don't get scored on, or I don't know, quit hockey or something, don't act like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

cowardly, unprofessional, disrespectful, dangerous and entitled reaction.

but no jail time?

I see hf continues to shine through the darkness that is the internet.
And some leaf fans and players think assault with a weapon is justified because they are sore losers and got there knickers in a knot cause they got beat fair and square...

well criminal charges may have been layed... this time they were not

you are aware that there have been criminal charges for on ice assaults previously correct?
