Pretty nice we still have Gio. Shown he can still play.
Don't jinx us, bro!

I know Rielly was inconsistent leading up to this, but his absence will definitely be felt, especially with Brodie and Muzzin out as well.

It's going to be a grind until January.
This is the time that boys become men and grow a heart and play with what ya got! Pending dumbass signs a big fish top 4 d

Our best 3 goalies got hurt, and then our best 3 D got hurt. I'm not looking forward to Matthews, Nylander and Tavares all getting hurt at the same time

Honestly, the team will probably improve defensively without Rielly. He's very replaceable on the PP too, as he has no particular plus-level attributes for the PP.

This will be bad for a team that cannot score at even-strength though.

I'm rather surprised they were so quick to put him on LTIR. I guess the Muzzin space wasn't enough with the other short term injuries that they would have had to run a 22 man roster until Samsonov is back. But from getting another shift after the injury to knowing he's going to be out for a month less than 18 hours after the injury is unusual.

Brodie back is the key. He cant be too far off ? Week or two ? Muzz always out so not really a factor. Sandin steps up.

Well shit.

Time for Liljegren and Sandin to show what they're made of.
This is how I feel too.

Gio and Holl aren't the future.

It's time to see what Sandin/Lilly look like holding the reigns and playing with our top lines against other team's top lines. We've seen it a bit from Lilly, but this will be different. No safety chute.

Frankly, I see this as a great thing and a silver lining in this situation!

The one bright side to this is maybe Keefe will go with a more defensive system. I'm tired of the 4 man rush every single break out.

The Leafs are 20th best in goals per game, 8th in goals against per game. At 5v5 they're 28th best and 6th best respectively. I don't really know why you'd think the Leafs need to get more defensive and less offensive

Braden Schneider or Kaiden Guhle would be mighty nice to have right about now, too bad they weren't skilled enough for Dubas' liking

It has the makings of an off-year, re-evaluate period.
Excuse me?

Do you mean that Shanny/Dubas/Keefe get a Mulligan due to (of all things) an injury to Rielly?

What do you mean by this? Re-evaluate the team or Rielly's injury?

This is how I feel too.

Orrrrrrrrr it might mean a major firings of Leaf Management, a re-tooling, and Liljegren/Sandin traded.

I don't see a silver lining.

This is why half the fanbase is anxious.
