Imagine if we would go all gunz in air after Erik 65 Karlsson (the point leader of nhl now with mcdavid) .... that would be AMAZING. AND STUPID. AND GREAT. AT THE SAME TEZIME. But yeah... this is a great opportunity abd gloryhole for sandin.

Knee on knee is not a conditioning issue. I wouldn't call that accident an officiating issue either, it's a physical game, sometimes injuries like that just happen.

Now the Matthews one last night, that was an officiating issue.
And as usual, not a peep from Shanahan calling out the NHL!!! He's an NHL plant to keep our Leafs competitive, but not a real Stanley Cup contender. JMHO!

How do you know that?

No media coverage! It needs to be made public or the NHL is not accountable. Again, JMHO. I might be wrong on the issue, but silence from Shanahan and Dubas is very telling. MLSE can afford the fines no problem!!!

Why, to appease the fans, or to get a desired consequence? Getting the desired consequence, is contacting the league... not making a statement to to the press. The public holds the NHL accountable? How, by raging on forums or Twitter? Seriously, it doesn't work that way.

I would think they talk to the league directly about this. I don't think relying on Bettman to read the Sun is very effective.
What would you expect to result from it?

Yes, to appease the fans, and more importantly, show to our players that management cares for their on ice welfare.

I would like to see a press release saying that an official complaint had been made to the NHL.

All that need to be said us we have discussed the incident either league officials. End of story. The Leafs play because of fans. No fans no team.

This is a great opportunity for our "one day he'll be great" coach to modify the team's style of play to compensate for the injuries on D.

Or he could have them continue as they are and just talk about how tough it is without those guys in the line up.

I know where I'd put my money.

I’m somewhat hopeful the team can weather his injury. Rielly is a huge loss and minute eater but he’s also been up and down and was pretty bad for a lot of this season. Hopefully Gio can step up as a captain of the blueline and help Liljegren and Sandin grow their games with increased responsibility. And we can get Brodie back soon. Then Rielly.

1 of top 5 gone. We are 1 big injury of remaining top 4 player from an even earlier golf game this spring.

Appease the entitled fans then?

You believe the players read press releases to see if the team cares about them?
I don't see the big deal, just assume they talk to the league about many things, why wouldn't they?

I mean of course right? Imagine that possibility... management actually telling other members of the team what's going on. Imagine actually thinking that this isn't possible, that players have to pay attention to the press, to know what Management is doing.

Hopefully they ride this injury out and don’t let Dubas make a knee jerk reaction move. They should be able to weather the storm.

It was only sooner or later that the depth would have caught up to us. Good thing this didn’t happen last year, but we essentially have our top 3 D men on the sidelines
Hardly just the Leafs that would be in trouble if #1, 2, 3 go down.

Adding Benn and Gio will help now

When you spend 1/2 your cap on 4 forwards then key injuries on defense and goaltending is possibly the worst situation for the team to find themselves in. IMO
What team can lose their top 3 and be in a good situation no matter how much they pay their top 4 forwards?

No dman that can play top 6 regularly is signing up to be 9th on a depth chart

Too big, too slow, Dubas no likey
Canucks know we're desperate, they'd bend us over on any trade
Probably not now but at the Deadline he would be worth looking into.

Leafs had very fortunate luck last year with good health and limited injuries.

This year it appears this is starting off on the wrong foot.

Morgan is one of the few players Leafs really can't afford to lose nor replace, without it impacting the team results..

This one hurts that an accidental collision puts him on the shelf for at least a month.
Any fool could see that Muzzin was on the cusp of retirement and that Holl was shaky as a top 4.
Management did not address the 2nd pairing, I don't care of how much Dubas juice you're guzzling they are not good enough.
