Nah. I’m good. I’ll associate them together because penaltys and suspensions go together 90% of the time. You do you.
Arguments from authority only work when you have proven authority in a subject.

So far, you're not doing a great job of convincing anyone.

It's not like this stuff even takes a lot of time to research! Tons of websites and stats tools that would help you actually make a point here.

Yeah, I'm gonna keep doing what I'm doing. Living in reality.

No they won't, because it happened to Toronto.

However, when there is a game where the Leafs find themselves up by one against Ottwaw with an opportunity at an empty net you can sure as hell bet whoever it is coming down the ice is taking a slapshot.

And there will rightfully be retaliation, just keep the sticks out of it.
I dunno, I had assumed it was really only Leaf and Leaf based reporters who were mad but its looking like it pissed off way more than that.
At least Zegras has a bit of star power protecting him. Greig is an agitator so IMO players have a greenlight to give lil cheap shots

I'd bet tons, and TONS of money he will be doing that stuff again

Do you know the player at all?
Im not talking about "that stuff". He will continue to be a rat. He is a rat.

I'm talking about blasting the puck 100MPH into an empty net with 4 seconds left likes he's in the hardest shot competition at the All Star Game. Specifically THAT. He wont do that again. I guarantee it.

If he wanted to play in the All Star game he should play better.

Ridley Greig? He makes SURE he has a tough time every game because he plays right on the edge. He'll absolutely relish it if teams are mad and want a go at him. Some people are built that way, some aren't. He 100% is.
It will be cool to see how it plays out, I just hope no one does something really dirty like a slewfoot etc
I don't want to see the kid injured, just fed a lil humble pie

It was 73 mph. No need to skew the facts to try and look good. And he would 100% do that again against Toronto.

I wouldn't worry about it imo. Not with the threat of suspensions etc. Nothing's gonna come of this at all - until next year, when maybe the Leafs decide they have to deal with it again.

I'll be watching though, because i like some sandpaper to the games.

Another aspect is its looking like it rubbed a ton of players the wrong way. So I expect him to be targeted over the next lil bit, unless he answeres the bell quickly.
Then knowing hockey culture all will be balanced

It’s like he didn’t exist before he played in this game against the Leafs.

He has always played like this. Against all opposition. He has been targeted before. He’s a pest.

He will certainly take some licks from time to time but not specifically because he took a slap shot at an EN against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Almost 4200 posts 'before' there's any gloating/pulling hair out over the length of the upcoming suspension...?

Guess I better get involved in what's turning into an epic thread...

/Riely should have dropped his gloves, jumped Greig, taken the instigator penalty, & sat there in the box in smug assurance that he satisfied 'The Code'. Now his little temper tantrum will cost him a LOT of money, possibly/probably more than many of us make in a couple of years. Hope it was worth it.

He is absolutely, unequivocally, and utterly wrong.

I've been proving it for pages now. Like, an easy dozen posts tearing down the argument from every angle that the Leafs lead the NHL in suspensions. They do not. They aren't even close.

Didn't you post number from 2009 onwards?

Didn't we see something similar with Cousins?
it happened against team x and next game a different team went after him?

Well, it was only 73 mph.

Can you imagine the reaction if he’d really cut loose?

Rielly should be thanking him for letting up.

I dunno, remember all the players who went after Radko Gudas because of how disrespectful he was to the Leafs?

Yeah me neither.

I'm sure a small part of you expects him to take shit over the next few games...

So, the empty net point blank slap shot is kind of over the top, but In my opinion it just makes Grieg look silly. To consider it disrespectful seems ridiculous to me. And responding with physical violence just seems childish. Perhaps the NHL would be better off without both players. They're both embarassments.

We'll be keeping ours, but you can do with Sheriff Reilly whatever you wish.

The Big Smoke (unfortunately)
so all this was just trying to walk up to a "soft" joke in a thread where he's already doing something worth ripping on? I guess I don't get the timing but I'll take it over having to add to my own headache talking to the "stick rode up" crowd, sarcasm emoji might save you from some crossfire next time
I wasn't being facetious.

I'm using two stats groups:

1) 2017 onwards in the context of Parros being the head of the DOPS, which apparently to some is a big reason why Leafs are getting all these suspensions (which is false during this time period)

2) 2009 onwards, which is the most complete historical dataset I could find, to show whether or not the Leafs are the most suspended team in league history (actual quote, I shit you not. also entirely false)

Two different arguments, so two different stats pulls to show how utterly wrong their arguments are.
