We always get the book thrown at us. I get it you hate our team but why the double standard.
I'm sure the Reilly will get suspended 41 games, and the Leafs will lose a 1st round pick over this...

Oh wait! That only happens to a different NHL team...

For whatever reason, I get the feeling they are going to throw the book at Reilly. I think he'll get more than 5 games.

They should, it was a dirty play outside of the game. Pure retaliation.

You'd just hope the useless DoPS and their potato leader would start being consistent going forward, because they're f***ing awful.

I mean.... Leafs can't have all the mental toughness of the Sens. Being bottom of the standings and still be so mentally tough!

Professor Rielly handing out some lessons there though.....
Rielly doesn’t have to teach the league that the Leafs are the most fragile team in NHL history. Everyone already knows this.

Are people trolling when they say he should be arrested? I cant tell anymore.
In principle a dangerous non-hockey play that occurs after the whistle or away from the puck is subject to assault charges etc. We saw that with McSorley and Brashear or Bertuzzi and Moore.

That said, Grieg isnt injured so this really isnt an example of one of those. IF Rielly significantly injured Grieg then it wouldnt be much different than Bertuzzi, where an unsuspecting player who was being a rat was attacked when they didnt expect it etc. But Grieg isnt hurt so its just a suspendable offense.

Anyone calling for more than a suspension is out to lunch. But this absolutely needs a significant suspension, you cant allow people to target someones neck or head just cause they are caught up in their feelies after losing.

Leafs had the lead for part of the first period, that’s it. No idea what your point is.
Yep, you didn't get it. It was a hypothetical. IF the Leafs were leading in the last minute of the game, then there would have been no empty net goal by the Senators. It was a comment about how poorly the Leafs have performed versus the Senators. Not that tough to understand.

we have a new lead folks.

10+ games, jail time, civil court, book thrown, and now Coach should be out for a few games for praising violence.

now don't let me down hf.

who is going to top that one?
How about Leaf fans should be fined as well? They the ones making a bigger deal out of a guy taking a slap shot at an empty net.

A couple Sens fans were genuinely saying this is CRIMINAL assault with a weapon and he would have been arrested if Grief was injured. If anyone is going to do anything to earn a fine, as far as fans go, it'll be one of your guys for harassing Rielly on social media.

It's the ambiguity of the word held.

If the leafs held the lead in the final mins can be interpreted two ways:

a) to mean "in the final mins of the game, they had more goals than the opposition" - in other words held the lead means to have the lead

or

b) to mean, "if the did not allow the opposition to score and wipe out the lead they had in the final mins". in other words, held the lead means to retain a lead until the end of the game.
