If there are this many meatballs out there that think a player 'earned' a cross-check to the head for slap-shotting a puck into an empty net, I'm sure as hell happy Toews hit the post on his knee-down one-timer slapper at the Wild's empty net of Game 4 of their 2nd round series in 2015.

If it's 'worthy' of a cross-check to the head in a regular season game, what's the punishment for ending a team's season in a sweep with a flashy one-timer off a 2-on-0 into an empty net?

Definitely not a hockey play so he should get a pretty severe punishment. Not like a Reilly has a history though so I don’t know. 5 games? I don’t even attempt to understand how they view things these days.

The Leaf permanent victim complex in full roar.

Lol

When is the last time the Leafs lost a first round draft pick or had a key player suspended for half a season?
yes it's a victim complex when Sens fans admit they are trolling lol. When was the last time you got to cheer for your team instead of against another to enjoy hockey?

Probably has something to do with the phil kessel guy, he ate a lot of hot dogs in his time in Toronto....
I remember when Leafs fan used to defend that guy and all the other fanbases said he was fat and shit. Laughed at him at the All-Star game.

Turns out, all these years later, every other fanbase loved him.

Funny world we live in.

He said it was appropriate response. He never said it was a clean response. People are arguing 2 different things.

At the end of the day, the Sens will still be looking forward to the draft lottery and the Leafs will still be looking forward to the playoffs. As everyone here says, let’s see what they do in the playoffs.

I wish we could schedule in another game with the 2 teams this season.
Agreed, the appropriate response to someone hurting my daughter would be something that isn’t legal and could get me in trouble.

Not right, not the way some people would do it, maybe not even ethical. But it is appropriate.

I see what Keefe was saying and agree.

Ridly Greig, a 21 year old rookie player out of Lethbridge, Alberta, just completely and utterly eviscerated the entire Toronto Maple Leafs organization from top to bottom with a single play. Think about that for a moment. Management, players fans, ownership, all completely seething still a full 24 hours after the fact. 100+ years of history of a storied franchised sucked down the drain in an instant from a single clapper in between the dots. Wow. We witnessed history in motion last night and I'm just thankful I was there to experience it. Wow.

I am not a Maple Leafs fan. But I wish them well and hope that they win a cup in the next few years. I regard Auston Matthews closer to the best player in the league than the third best player in the league.

I think the actions of the defenseman last night should be ’rewarded’ with a 10 game suspension. Maybe even crime charges for an assault as it happened so blatantly NOT during play. There is a line that must be clear.

Also, the Maple Leafs’ head coach should be out for a few games for praising violance.
