March 11, 1962 - Bob Nevin losing his contacts

Chicago Tribune wrote:
Dollard St. Laurent, Hawk defenseman, first caught Mr. Nevin in the corner, lined him up, and then gave him a body slam. As Nevin started to collapse, Dolly landed a short left hook that Referee Eddie Powers didn’t see, and then collapsed on the prone Nevin — knees first.

Play continued after Nevin arose, but the swift Toronto right winger just stood in one spot motionless, yelling for help. Time was called and players from both teams dropped to hands and knees searching for the lenses. They never were found, and Nevin groped thru the remainder of the game.

Yeah, these sweaters were never actually worn (unless it was in preseason 1976). Favell also never wore #30 for the Rockies unless I'm mistaken.

Calgary Tigers in 1925–26, of the Western Hockey League (former WCHL). This team (give and take a few players) had appeared in the 1924 Stanley Cup final against the Montreal Canadiens, falling kinda flat there (1-6, 0-3).

Players are not listed in the source (Oregon Historical Society) but I'm going to list them by face recognition to the best of my ability.

Back row, from left: Red Dutton, ?, Archie Briden, Hal Winkler, Herb Gardiner, Harry Oliver, Gordon McFarlane, Art Duncan, Spunk Sparrow, Fern Headley.

Dutton, Gardiner and Oliver are in the HHOF. From the 1924 Calgary Tigers team Rusty Crawford is also in the HHOF, and Bernie Morris probably would have been without the draft dodging debacle.

Interesting, the Espositos had another table top hockey game during the 70's, very different from the rod style games. Instead you had two magnets each and could move the players all over, including the bench.
Did not actually work, so it got tossed decades ago, wish like hell I still had it though.
