I didn't get to watch the entire game. Was in and out of it but here are my thoughts based on what I saw:

Lambert: Is using his speed much better then past years. He's picking his spots on when to burst and when to make a simpler play. He's also using his teammates a lot better. I think he's definitely tracking towards a top 9 slot.

Luscious: He looks much more confident to me then last I saw him. He definitely has silky smooth mitts and was playing a quicker and more physical game, but he does need some work in his end. I think he's definitely destined for the wing at the NHL level so probably good that he's been moved over on the Moose. Looks back on track to me. Still unsure of his ceiling.

Zhilkin: Good positioning and instincts off the puck. He's building a defensive foundation that will give him a chance at carving out an NHL career. He has a good motor and has some skill and vision with the puck. He's definitely one to keep tabs on.

Mostly the vets making the impact today.

Looks like Chaz is playing RW, @Atoyot has he been playing in that spot more lately?
He'd been playing center for the most part from what I noticed, I was only able to watch the first period yesterday so may have been switched. He does feel like a more natural winger but the idea of him as a center has grown on me. He's a very smart player.

I think the issue with Mallot is his lack of speed. Bowness likes his bottom line forwards to play a fast, pressure game.
I'd like to see Mallot get a shot. He may not be quick, but he does everything right. Basically the opposite of AJF. There are plenty of slow, high impact players in the NHL.

There are slow high-impact players in the NHL, but I'm not sure a slow player would be high-impact on the 4th line for Bowness. The Jets play an aggressive forechecking game and try to use speed in transition. Slower forwards need to have a ton of skill and play with other fast players to be effective. I'm not sure Malott would fit that mold.

Zhilkin with a great 4v4 goal to put the Moose up 1-0.

Almost got another one on the powerplay skating through their team, freezing the goalie, and wrapping it into the empty net. Looked like the defenseman got his stick in at the last moment. Best period I've seen from him.

Kuzmin looking real bad in his first AHL game.

Much better effort from the Moose to earn themselves a split in Calgary:

They are now 10-10-0 on the season and will return to Winnipeg for a pair of games next weekend at home against Milwaukee.

Who is your favourite player on the Moose?

Was at the game tonight. I wasn't fully watching so might have missed some things but didn't really notice Chaz or Chibrikov out there. One of Lamberts biggest criticisms at the draft was his hockey IQ and making stupid passes/giveaways. I must say he made several smart passes and didn't notice any giveaways or dumb plays. He looked pretty good out there, nothing amazing but seemed to always be involved in the play. Honestly I would say his hockey IQ and decision making were well above average. If his hockey "IQ" is the biggest knock on him, then look out.
