Texas comes into the game needing a point to clinch 5th spot in Central:

Moose resting a bunch of guys. Means Winnipeg debuts for these three:

Manitoba lost Kristian Reichel on first shift of game:

Welcome to Winnipeg Daniel Torgersson:

Moose up 2-1 halfway through the 2nd period.

Congrats to Daniel Torgersson on his first goal as a pro. I'm hoping he gets the call for the playoffs.

I don't know if it's the right thread, but after two games where he was average but also let down by the defense, Desrosiers had an impressive performance yesterday for the Lions.

Edit: Also, Hayden Shaw was clearly our best all around defenseman.

Injury updates:

Moose win 40th game of the season. Improve to 40-24-5-2

How has Torgersson looked? Nice to see him with two goals already, is there a player there?

Remind me: if we're #2 in the division, why are our home games scheduled as such?

In this round the higher seed has choice where they want to start. Either:

Games 1 & 2 at home
Games 3, 4 & 5 at home.

Most teams choose to start on the road and get the advantage of last three at home.

They kept it rolling in the 3rd adding two more goals:

Kristian Vesalainen shorthanded:

Moose win big as they defeat the Canucks by a final score of 6-0 in the regular season finale. It was a combined 13-1 victory for Manitoba in the two games played to end the season. Good way for the Moose to head into the playoffs (with more support on way).

What I will say about the Moose is that they play much more coordinated than the Jets squad ever did this season. Their puck movement and passes in all three zones actually have a purpose in the way they're setup, their defensive schemes and systems actually work and aren't complete garbage, and their special teams can actually do something. Just a really well coached team this year top to bottom. Compared to watching the tire fire Jets team this season, it's been a breath of fresh air watching them, they completely manhandled Abbotsford in both games. I look forward to seeing what they can do on this Calder Cup run.
