But Stan and Demelo both definitely bring something different to the team. Demelo is the safe reliable no risk d. And Stan is the physical beast. Schmidt, is like Morrissey, Pionk. If Heinola comes in he should start on 3rd pairing but ultimately should be the Schmidt replacement.
if we trade schmidt and heinola starts on the 3rd pair and isn't good enough to play on the top rhd spot then we just traded the only guy we had that could

I said ultimately, and I do have more faith in Heinola getting there than you apparently.

I just don't want to trade someone who can play that spot for someone who may or may not be able to, if you want heinola in demelo would make the most sense because his cap hit being to high for a 3rd pairing d-man

Nice, I'm half watching from home. Does Chisholm look as fast in person as he does through the stream?

He does, definitely gained a step this year. Has always been a strong skater with good edge work but seems to be quicker off the mark now.

Heinola back, thankfully. Took a hard hit and a shot after.

EDIT: See you guys are all on top of this!

Didn't see anything happen, but I don't think Gustafsson has been on the ice in awhile. Maier's centering his line now.

EDIT: Actually looking at the lines Maier is centering his proper line. Could be wrong here.

Good to have another person in on the discussion! This is a fun team to watch this year, hopefully gets more people watching!

Quite impressed with Holm, very calm and square in net, makes his saves look routine.

Looks like no Ville for period 2, hopefully it's not a concusion.

Also impressed with Lundmark, has more puck skills then I thought.

Essymont impresses everytime I see him. Just doing something every shift... be a hit or generating a shot.
I really like what he does well. He has decent hands and great compete. His decision making is kind of questionable though. I've seen him try to force passes to players that are double/triple covered a lot. Nice goal there for sure though.

That's been my take. Good motor and some decent skills but not sure how well he sees the ice -- although, as a 4th liner for the Jets he wouldn't see much ice.

Hosting a socially-distanced kid b-day party here sure ain't easy. I caught about 2 mins of the game

Well that was a fun game. The level of play in the AHL is definitely much higher this year then last.

Holm with a very nice Moose debut. He tracked the puck well and was square to the shooters all night. His rebound control was also very good. I like this kid and see more in him then Berdin.

Chisholm: Real smooth skater that jumps up into the play really well. Showed a good first pass and was pretty solid in his end. One thing that he needs to do is eliminate some of the risk in his puck rushing as he makes some risky moves in his end. Still the kid is developing really well.

Gawanke: Looks much better the last year. He's moving well and making better decisions with the puck. He just needs to use his shot more.

Kovacevik: He was tough and good in his end tonight which is par for the course. I was pretty underwhelmed with his breakouts and puck management today though. He just seemed to rip it up the boards or chip it out even when he had time. That isn't going to fly on a Transition based offense like ours. I've seen better from him so not too worried.

Hope Heionla is OK, only played a couple of shifts so not enough to evaluate.

First live look at Lundmark and there are some tools here. He's got good size, skates well and is generally in good position . I also liked that he tried to make things happen with the puck and has better hands then I thought. He was also solid with his first pass. I need to see more but there are enough tools that he could be a depth dmen of he can keep developing.

Cole had a good game but you can see that he will need a couple of weeks to adapt to the improved level of play in the AHL and adapt to his linemates. He was once again doing a lot of the little things well. He is surprisingly good on faceoffs given his age and lack of playing experience at center. He was once again on point with his transition play. Scored a nice goal and tilted the ice. There is definitely more there but he's off to a good start on the Moose.

Gus: Just a real tidy game again from him. He's in great position all over the ice, tough on sticks and pucks and is making good reads with it. He's definitely tracking to take Lowry's job in another couple of years. Another real good complimentary piece for us.
