One GM in common much more likely he forgot how to play hockey at 23.
Your demonization of this GM is something else...
Why is he even hiring coaches and paying them those big bucks if it's him who decides everything at the end of the day?

The favoritism under this regime is real. Desharnais could do no wrong. Galchenyuk is expected to be Patrice BergeronIf only they would be fair, they would do the same to our captain as they are doing to Chucky right now...

And there lies the main problem and the main reason of the downfall of this team, management and mainly the Gm has double standardsIf only they would be fair, they would do the same to our captain as they are doing to Chucky right now...

They have really ruined any confidence he would have had. They need to get him going
I said it when the Habs acquired Drouin, that he would play well with Galchenyuk more so than Pacioretty. When I think of players that compliment Chucky, I know Danault and Shaw come to mind!

Because as a center he is his back hand passing it to Pacioretty. Or a forehand pass to Galchenyuk's one-timer (playing RW)
Should kill about the 60 - 80 highly vocal fans -- francophone AND anglophone, sports forums and talk shows -- who only see bad, whatever is done, and that are now referring to themselves as the self-appointed Habs' fan base.
Precious...
What I'll agree with, however, win or lose, is that the ridiculous ticket prices are killing the real fan base...
And I will take that as a compliment from someone like you.
Thats me on the left side of the Pic.
You aren't the arbiter of who is a fan or what constitutes a fan. Some, like you, are content to watch a once proud franchise deteriorate into disrepair through neglect and incompetence.
You stand silent about mediocrity, nepotism, bufoonery and self-immolation. Fine with me. Yet I don't have the arrogance to tell you you're a lesser fan because of it.
I've watched and cheered and celebrated 12 Montreal Stanley Cups, so I have a pretty good idea what a talented, creative, successful and classy team looks like.
This current version of that once inspiring and respected franchise is none of the above. But you're entitled to cheer for the failures and mismanagement if you so desire. So feel free to tilt at windmills while vehemently endorsing this abject failure of a team, while some of us prefer just to call a spade - a spade.
Because he's not paying them? He's not paying for Shawzee either... It's not his money.
I don't know, I try not to waste time finding logic in our GMs actions.
Bergevin is to common sense like the players he acquires are to skill.
Well said. My sentiments exactly.lol.
I don't pretend to be the arbiter of who is a fan and who isn't, but the exchanges on this board are, for the most part, beyond conversation at this point. I'm just fed up of the "must win" tone of the discourse that emphatically and inevitably turns to badgering. I'm also not the one that named themselves spokesperson for the alleged fan base that was being alienated by the target-du-jour named Bergevin.
It's been rince and repeat for years now, whomever was in place as coach or GM, as far as the slandering goes.
Obviously, on some level, not winning a Cup in 25 years is an abject failure for this storied franchise. Anyone giddy or blindly content with the team's (mis)management (to varying degrees) since Serge Savard was let go is disconnected with reality. I'm not that person. However, if you don't yield 100% to the bully's view around these parts, it's not enough and the pack mentality kicks in.
A bunch of impressions and false logic passed off as truisms that must be adhered to. There is little interest to engage in conversation when what is really expected is gleeful participation in a full-out circle jerk.
I'm also old enough to have witnessed a few of the Habs' Cup wins as an adult, and several more as a youngster. I'm certainly eager to see us win one again while I'm still alive.
I respect those who don't think 100% as I do. However, I don't respect those that embark on a feeding frenzy with the sole aim to silence any nuance.
Too much of that going on here. Wasted words, anyhow...
How is this relevant to what I said?
Why hire a coach? Seems like it's Bergevin who's putting Chucky on the 4th line...

Maybe that's the problem?
I think he starts putting up points soon too. If not this game hopefully soon.Prediction. Mete with a goal and an assist
Because the team need a coach? What kind of ******ed logic is that?
Bergevin took the decision to use Drouin as 1C, who knows which other roster decisions come from him. At the end of the day the HC is below the GM in the hierarchy.
Man do you understand how dumb this sounds? No I can assure you the problem is our GM, when you think to yourself I should acquire a 31 year old D for a 27 year old with similar potential(arguably more), it better not be followed by acquiring grinders at the deadline and getting bounced in the 1st round...
Better to alienate our 2nd best point producer while ensuring we minimize any value if we do want to trade him.
