No. Learn statistics. The effect of luck is increased when a sample goes down - and 8 games is incredibly small as a sample.

Surely the Habs are twice as worse at scoring as the worst team in league history. Yeah, no. They are not. Learn to think with reason and not emotions.
There's no doubt that we are a better team than we've shown. But there's also no doubt that we haven't played well and lack finishers on this club. Even with good analytics I believe our offense isn't going to be good this year.

Analytics are great but talent matters. The Devils are a good example of this in recent years.

Lots of Habs are playing very well, Byron is only one, Gallagher earned that his play this season has been outstanding as has Plekanec, Lehkonen, Shaw + many others, IMHO!!!... Those players make the Habs worthy opponents, their hard work ethic is what makes Championship teams.

S Bah, c’mon man. I know positivity is your thing, but come on.

Sure. I'm aware of that (xGF models don't rank the Habs too well despite the great CF%, for instance). My whole point was that the number of puck that bounce just a little over a stick, deviates sightly besides, etc. - which are elements that are mostly unaffected by talent - is crazy.

I never said anything about them in regards to league history. I said their chances don't equate to as many goals as they should because we don't have the talent. Don't put words in my mouth.

Habs hit 30 shots this single period. Could be a season changer if we win this one, yes that early in the season.

Wow...insane period. Best period for sure this year. But....will the talent at the end prevail? We will see. But that was fun to see. And yep, Pacioretty with Danault forever. Next step, Drouin on the wings.

The way the Habs played in the 2nd is what I like seeing. They just need to figure out the most important part in all of this, scoring. Price also looks more stable.

My favorite player tonight is Shaw. He's in every Ducks' face after the whistle. I haven't seen him this engaged in a long time.

Also consider the scoring effects. We typically get outplayed and the other team takes the lead. THEN we start outshooting them. Look at tonight outshot 21-7 before we even show up.

Corsica isn't around anymore and I haven't been able to really look up the analytics this season but I'd be willing to bet that our Corsi isn't all that great when it comes to the scoring being even.
