Byron - Drouin - Galchenyuk

Pacioretty - Danault - Shaw

Lehkonen - Plekanec - Hudon

That would be my top 3 lines, if things still don't work out.

It's not bad puck luck. Our puck movement is too slow and the goalie is always ready for the shot.
The worst team in the history of the league since sh% is calculated had a sh% that is twice times that of the Habs this season so far. There's a huge element of puck luck that you deny simply because it doesn't your narrative I guess.

Seriously this nonsense has to stop. I am all for positivism and optimism. I watched the Habs play the caps in the playoffs when they had no chance. I watched the Habs play the pens when they had no chance. They won those series. I never once said "im not going to watch, the Habs don't stand a chance".

Today we are confronted with a whole different monster. This isn't the underdog problem, this is the poorly built team that is finally getting exploited for the bad team they are. No longer can the blame be placed else where. This is the team MB built and it's rotten to the core. How can one be optimistic about this situation when I have been saying this for 3 years. While you (not you, but those who do) cling to your division wins and playoff berth, I aspired for greater things from a team that went to the ECF in 2014. The team then had room to improve. The team now has to make far too many changes to be competitive.

Why be blindly optimistic. The Habs have absolutely nothing to be optimistic about.

Compared to what we're witnessing, even the most negative of us were blindly optimistic. Two weeks ago, most of us saw the flaws, but still thought we'd probably make the playoffs. Now, even that tepid level of enthusiasm seems naive. I'm not talking about the big concepts of team-building -- all of us want to build a contender -- I'm talking about the smaller pleasures: I just want to watch a game and believe we could frikkin win. That fun, for me, is gone at the moment. I'd much rather have blind optimism.

After 8 games, its maybe more than just puck luck

Never seen a team with such bad puck luck. It's like the hockey gods are punishing the Habs for the lucky starts we had the past two seasons.
Or it's like we just don't have the talent to bury the puck for as many chances as we get.
