Meltzer talked about USA not being happy and not getting the most for their investment with WWE in terms of ratings which is why Smackdown is moving live to no added cost for the USA Network, while WWE is eating the extra cost of going live.

And neither side will be happy with that move even though it's for the best. haha

Not sure where to put this, but I did get down to Wizard World to try and make way to Sasha, but all of her photo ops and autographs were sold out. Oh well, know better for the future since I don't do comic cons (I'm sure they're cool and whatnot, just don't get much of a chance to go to any and I was never into comics as a kid). I rolled the dice not doing a VIP package (saving for Brooklyn this year), didn't get down there early enough, and didn't know you could buy them online. Whoops.

Anyways, did get to take part in the Wrestling Audio forum and Sasha's Q&A, so it wasn't a complete bust. I asked her about the Iron Man match with Bayley, and what went into that and how she went about doing the spot with Izzy's headband. She went on about a lot so I guess it was a good question because it got a good answer - which was a huge thrill for me personally. But the person behind me asked her about ubiquitous branding of 'women' as opposed to 'divas.' Got a kick out of her saying that she never wanted to hold that belt, however, she also said they were told in Brooklyn what would be happening with the new belt.

OT - Then I went to the Grimes show and that was awesome too, so all in all, great night.

Styles vs. Cena is set for MITB.

I'm a little surprised that it's MITB but also I'm not. That could've been built up, and maybe still will be, as the 'dream match' at a bigger PPV. But I also think MITB at the very least is knocking on the door of making it the big 5 PPV's again. And frankly, I like it better than Survivor Series, especially since they don't really do it anymore, anyways.

Yeah, they need to turn Survivor Series back into what it was.

I forget the year, but there were like 3 different 5v5 matches, and they had this promo on RAW where it started with 1 team doing a promo, and then it ended with all 6 teams out in the arena (Ring, Stage, Crowd Areas etc), and then they all crashed the ring and it was just a massive brawl.

It was really cool.

Ali of course was heavily influenced in the way he would talk by Gorgeous George since he had watched wresting at its 1950 national TV peak. So then he took it to another level....and he influenced the promo style of so many modern wrestlers. Dusty Rhodes is one example.

And of course there's the Inoki debacle (which pretty much wrecked his legs) and his in-ring confrontation with Gorilla Monsoon.

This week’s WWE RAW rating was a 2.19, which is down from the 2.29 rating last week.

Additionally, this week’s rating is the lowest of 2016 so far, and near the all-time low rating of 2.15 rating that RAW posted at the end of last year.

"WWE isn't cool enough to get big numbers anymore. And most of the roster is corny. Also WWE is catering to a very geeky audience, and you can tell. Everything from today's wrestling gimmicks, their segments like that time machine nonsense, their attire, their un cool un funny boring promos, etc.... geeky to the point of being cheesy and corny.
When WWE was catering to regular out going young people, college frat guys/ sorority chicks, bar goers, hard liquor drinkers, bikers, etc... they wouldn't have this problem. Today, arenas are mostly filled with guys in their late 20s and in their 30s wearing strap on head bands, singing Sami Zayn's theme music and thinking he's the coolest thing since Stone Cold. If that guy is WWE's idea of a big deal to main event RAW every week, WWE is in the twilightzone. Rod Serling should be the intro of RAW every week with all of these mediocre guys main eventing every week and that goofy fan base.

Their corny chants of "This is wrestling" , "you can't wrestle" and "this is awesome" don't help either. It's cheesy garbage. Back in old WCW when they used to throw garbage at Hollywood Hogan and the rest of the NWO every week, it felt more mature. They didn't sing anyone's theme songs, and didn't yell "woooaaaa woaaaaaaa" every 5 seconds like a kid on a roller coaster ride. So it's not just RAW, it's the fan base as well. It's all a turn off, and a ratings destroyer.
WWE should go back to catering to the majority, the people that can actually increase profit and numbers all around and stop playing around already. They already know how the game works. You cater to the majority period."

He's not wrong. Nothing is wrong with being a geek, or liking corny things, but wrestling is at it's best when it's a got an edge to it. People still rock Austin 3:16 shirts. No one in 15-20 years will be rocking a Cena or New Day shirt. That's a problem. Wrestling needs to become transcendent again.

Well I mean
That poster has some interesting points

But singing Sami Zayn's song is literally the coolest thing you can ever do, and every person who is in attendance when Zayn appears needs to sing it
It's basically law at this point

That block of text was absolute garbage, it's not even worth responding to.

tl;dr version - "I miss the Attitude Era and I am a probably a ******-bag and don't like that there's nothing wrong with being a GEEK and a NERD now. Why aren't we shoving them into lockers anymore? I also miss misogyny! And casual homophobia!"

Welp... Anyone who knows me know show much I had Goldberg. I absolutely hate Goldberg. I hate all of his quotes. I hate how he treated the wrestling business. I think the guy is beyond overrated.

Now having fun is what is wrong with wrestling?

Ya wrestling does need a edge, but it can be fun too. There is a reason that the most recent best run was DB's rise at WM30. Yes chants are "geeky"

You can have a bit of both. ******** on Sami is one of the weirdest things to do.

Ugggh! I know it's irrational on my part. I think that's the most fun part of wrestling - we can like/dislike whomever. I absolutely despise Goldberg and will never change my mind. Every single interview he's in is ridiculous.

I've never understood why the guy is so arrogant.
