Friday nite at Citi Field for 1st game of Nats series is going to be electric. If Marcus Stromen doesn't know what it's like to be a Met yet...he will by Friday.

It can be easily argued that Friday will be the most important game Mets have played in since that exciting 2016 run to the playoffs. That's a long friggen time ago peeps. Any more questions from any non Met fan wondering why we are salivating at what is going on here with our team.....lol

I might actually see a Met hit 40+ HR

Alonso...BOOM time!.

He is so ridiculously strong...my lord. All he hits are ropes. Good time for him to get hot too with Nats coming to town....man this is some good shit going on here.

Crazy thing is they’ve been on this tear since the AS break and Alonso hasn’t really hit much until the last two nights.

Didi hits it to Utah street...35 HR at Camden by Yankees this year...f***ing lol

Yoenis Cespedes who?

To be fair, we have seen a Met have a 40+ season which was when a heavily roided up Todd Hundley back in 1996 hit 41 bombs.

I was always suprised Dave Kingman never hit 40+ for us seeing he had such prodigious power and this was before roids. If you guys ever want to have a great laugh, go to YouTube and type in Dave Kingman longest home run which was at Wrigley Field when he was a Cub. It had to go at least 520 feet and it landed on a fly on a porch 3 houses down Waverly Avenue. It's hard to believe a human could hit a ball where he hit it. If you haven't seen it...do yourselves a favor and give it a view...you'll be laughing your ass off.

I have no doubt in my mind Pete Alonso has a few 500+ foot homers in that bat of his...:)

McNeil is Ichiro, prove me wrong.

Wheeler should be hitting 6th.

Not sure why we couldn’t sit Gleyber down for a week or two. Makes no sense with the lead they have and guys like Valera and Estrada who can pick up the slack. No clue why they’d let him try and play through this, and now it looks like a trip to the IL :shakehead

Incredibly dumb decision.

I've seen it lol. Kong hit some moon shots in his time. It was his stroke and arm extension. So smooth. Piazza was this violent cut comparatively.

Wishing to see just one full, healthy season of Cespedes.

You and me both. I have a feeling tho that the Cespedes train has left the station. Unless you believe he's going to come back injury free next spring. I dunno my friend, I've pretty much given up on him.

At least he gave us those 2-3 months back in '15 when we rolled to the World Series when he was about as hot a player could get during that run. I mean for most part, he practically carried Mets on his back to the playoffs and than he handed the baton off to Daniel Murphy who than carried us the rest of the way.

But yeah, what a bummer that Cespedes simply couldn't stay healthy....waste of talent.

Kingman's HR was big but Glenallen Hill went bigger. Hill's HR landed on a roof of a multi storey building across the road. To this day that is still the longest home run I've ever seen.

Well put it in the books boyz...a ho hum 5-0 win for our 12th win in 13 games and 18th in past 24.

We sit 58-56 just 2 games out of a WC spot with some of our main competition yet to play this evening.

Really not much left to say. This team has totally morphed into the team we all thought it could be at beginning of the year. Exciting times here in Metland as we for first time in 3 years will have important baseball games to look forward too for the next two months....feels great!

Yep...I've seen the highlight just recently of Hill's blast. It was a prodigious bomb. Kingman's tho kept bounding after it hit the porch and it just seemed to go further. But yes...the Hill blast is up there for sure.

wheeler has made the mets look smart for holding onto him the last 2 starts...but will they pay him? wilpon's ruin everything
