Gsellman sucks and it's probably better he's injured. That said, Stroman being out for any significant period is a huge loss. Basically kills the season unless someone unheralded steps in and has 10 magical starts.

I was unenthusiastic about this season anyway, this basically seals it. I guess hope Cano and Nimmo turn it around, Rosario keeps it up and we score a ton of runs.

ESPN had a thing about which minor leaguer could make a difference for each team. Mets was Walter Lockett.

i literally laughed and thought If we need Walter Lockett to be a difference maker we are f***ed
LOL, I read the same article and was so disappointed. I was hoping to read something about Kilome or someone random, but no. Lockett.

Also, did you know the dude's first name is WALKER? It wasn't until the last month that I realized it was Walker, and not Walter.

I haven't read an ESPN article in maybe a decade.

The Mets are going to have to score a lot of runs this year. Of course Van Wagenen will do all he can to prevent that from happening by forcing Cano into the 3 hole every day. Can't wait to watch Luis Rojas slowly die a little bit inside each day as he's forced to take all the heat from the media for managerial decisions that he gets texted to him from the GM. Mickey Callaway must be glad it's someone else's problem now.

Seriously its time for the Wilpons to get as far away from this franchise as possible. I don't know if its their vibe or just freak anomalies but you have potentially 60% of your rotation not ready for a 60-game season. How can this happen?

ha well this isn’t their fault though I hate them.

The problem with this shortened dysfunctional season is that pitchers are gonna get hurt more often. This won’t be the first big loss.

MLB will have a real issue with this since they are going to be traveling and not creating a bubble.

Should probably move to everyday testing/getting results back next day with all the traveling they are going to do.

Soto testing Tuesday, being around the team to practice, and then only finding out on Thursday doesn't seem like a great plan for this to work.

MLB has handled their situation terribly and they’ll end up paying for it.

I mean it’s harder for them since they’re dealing with a full slate of teams as their season wasn’t halted in progress, but nothing that they’ve done along the way has been the right thing to do.

For just this season, They could have re done the divisions based on geography or any other criteria so that there wasn’t an uneven number and then had 6 hub cities for each division.

Not what MLB wanted on opening day. Now you wait and see what other Nats players get it from Soto. How could they not be testing daily to catch it right away?

the question I have for all sports is how fast they are getting test results. Strome said they get a temp check every day and have to do a covid test every other day. but how long does it take to get the results and do they have to stay isolcated/outside until they find out? regular people are waiting a week for results so what kind of lag time are we dealing with?

The plan I read for the NHL in the bubble was for results to be available around 24 hours after. And once they’re in the bubble the tests become daily as well.
